George Soros financed the Rose Revolution against Shevardnadze

Russian website www.regnum.ru, which is notorious for its contentious information, reported that Geogre Soros, the well-known philanthropist, made various controversial comments concerning the Rose Revolution on a recent visit to Turkey.

The billionaire philanthropist and founder of the Open Society Institute, as well as praising Turkish efforts to transform itself into a more stable and open society, allegedly confessed to sponsoring the so-called colour revolutions that have taken place in Georgia, Ukraine and Kyrgyzstan. He is reported to have said that Georgia's Rose Revolution only took place because former president Shevardnadze did not keep promises he made to Soros. Regnum does not specify these 'promises'.
