Quotethe "fee" is paid to those you are excluding because the very fact that you are entitled (via government granted privilege) to exclusive use of a specific location forces a legal and monetary obligation on them that can only come at the expense of their ABSOLUTE right to their labor and thsu right of self-ownership itself.  [[emphasis mine]]

Seems to me the thing to do would be to eliminate the government granted privilege, not institutionalize it by legitimizing the theft.  If we do away with the guvment, then there won't be any guvment granted privilege.  :)

even if we do away with the government (anarchy) the economic rent will still attach itself to locations as people compete for scarce locations (land is fixed in supply)...

and if the excluders (two people can not occupy the same location at the same time) continue to retain the  economic rent it STILL can only result in the violation of the absolute rights to labor products and self-ownership of those being excluded.

but again the same can't be said if the landowenrs share the economic rent with excluded directly and equally - their absolute rights to their labor are preserved because their labor does not contribute to the creation of the economic rent (unimproved land value)

so getting rid of the state does not solve the problem of force and violation of the fruits of labor and self-owneship...

I guess it is fair to say you don't see the cat yet - huh?

I see the cat, Frank. It is right beside me, purring away. And it is REAL Frank, not a figment of your imagination.

Who cares?

There are three threads all about the LP's gutting of the platform... uhmmm again who cares?

If the people in the LP are truly giving up their principles then that is one thing... but it is a platform.

**Disclaimer** I haven't read the new platform nor do I care to. I will still vote for the LP member if they are running.

/prepares for shitstorm

Well Frank is using this to justify the LP saying all taxation is theft. Hey, theft is when your money is taken from you when you don't want it to be....
So I guess it's up to the one having it taken if they think it's theft.

both Jason, the founder of the LP (David Nolan) and the RLC believe that some taxes are less onerous than others (that was the essence of my question to Jason at the Porcfest if you remember)

Carl Milsted, the founder of the RLC is a self-avowed Georgist...so he obviously thinks that a land value tax actually PREVENTS a theft!

RLC? Who are they?

All taxes are onerous. Period.

See here's the thing Bill. Less onerous still means that they're onerous.
