Garage Sales

Down here in FL, garage sales are heaviest on Fri and Sat, and busiest during the winter when the snowbirds are down.

What's the garage sale situation like up there?  Since I'll likely be arriving this fall, will there be many to attend?  Are there virtually none during the winter?

I can't recall seeing a garage sale on Friday....  Saturday is the day for it.  You'll see some in April and early November, but  generally it's May-October.   Not many in the dead of winter, it's such a pain to don the old snow shoes just for a lousy garage sale.

it's mostly a summer thing, leading into fall until it gets too cold. the latest you'll see any is probably late october.

great oppty to spend liberty dollars or silver bullion coins...since the "owner of the shop" is almost always present and ready to haggle!

Of course this assumes you're not one of the folks who only has 10 or 20 rounds of silver to call your own.

There are a number of excellent flea markets. Usually garage sale quality goods and prices. Open when weather permits on Sat and Sundays.

yeah always tons of yard sales in the summer (in rural places we call them yard sales cause thats where you have them).

You see signs nailed to trees or put on street signs saying things like "yard sale 2 miles" and whatnot. But as people said, in the winter of course, none, it's too cold.

I've seen indoor garage sales in winter.
