IIRC, you can hunt on your own property without a license, but if the critter you shoot manages to leave your property, you need a license to track it off your property.

I'm sorry to say I'm going to be one of those damn westerners who will post "No Hunting" on their land.  I don't want people I don't know feeling free to fire guns on my property, especially since nearly half the hunters I know hunt drunk.  (Alcohol and guns are rarely a good mix.  I feel empowered to do my best to prohibit the combination on my own property.  What people do on others' property is that property owner's business.)

You know the wrong people. Most hunters I know take the sport seriously and are responsible.

I've known lots of booze to flow in hunting camp, but only at night after the guns are locked up.

I've never known anyone to hunt while drunk, or to have alcohol while hunting.

Now, fishing, that's a different story...  ;D
