There are high levels of mercury and/or other heavy metals in fish, most places.  I'll try to remember to get my wife to dig out the list later, since she's pregnant and has to be very careful of which fish she eats and doesn't eat.

Speaking of water, I've heard that the lakes in NH are contaiminated with high mercury levels.  ???
be afraid ... be very afraid

what do expect when we use the sky as a dump?

mercury in the fish and water is due to market failure and are called "negative externalities"...subjecting a third party (like Joe's wife and baby if they weren't careful) to the transactions of others.

rather than privatize the sky we need to "propertized" as an integrated whole and treat it as an intergenerational commons to be managed by trustees for future generations...

Does this mean I won't be able to fish in NH?   >:(

I had no idea the water was that bad up there.  Any way to fix that?  I see wells are very popular.  What about city water?  Avoid it?  Consider this the first of MANY questions I'll have!

Huh? "That bad"? It's not bad. Don't eat fish out of the Androscoggin downstream from Berlin. A couple of other spots as noted in the F&W links I posted. Other than that, the recommendations are the same as everywhere else: overly cautious.

Hillsboro town water tastes disgusting.  I dont know if there is anything wrong with the water, but it smells like chlorine.  We drink bottled water only.
