I have not checked this but Computer World is normally a reliable source. If you like to listen to a iPod and walk keep out of the Empire State (NY). If you do you could soon be fined $100. I had to check the date, nope its not April 1st.

Isn't "jaywalking" already illegal in most big cities?  So these dimwits stepped off of the curb, not in a crosswalk obviously, while listening to their tunes, and got hit...  They're ALREADY breaking the freaking jaywalking law!!!  WTF makes these idiots think that making ANOTHER LAW is going to keep these morons in the gene pool!?!  You can't fix stupid, but you need to NOT be stupid to know that you can't FIX IT!!!

As I read one article today, the proposal bans headphones, earbuds, cell phones, etc., in crosswalks.

Kruger's bill would only apply to big cities across New York state. We don't know what kind of support it has in Albany, but he hopes that the New York City Council, which has already banned indoor smoking and trans fats in restaurants, will pick up the cue.
