I have not checked this but Computer World is normally a reliable source. If you like to listen to a iPod and walk keep out of the Empire State (NY). If you do you could soon be fined $100. I had to check the date, nope its not April 1st.  :o

Damnit, people who listen to their iPods while walking around Manhattan are doing humanity a valuable service by taking themselves out of the gene pool. You can't outlaw stupidity; people will just find new and more creative ways to be stupid.

So how long until they just outlaw walking?

Isn't "jaywalking" already illegal in most big cities?  So these dimwits stepped off of the curb, not in a crosswalk obviously, while listening to their tunes, and got hit...  They're ALREADY breaking the freaking jaywalking law!!!  WTF makes these idiots think that making ANOTHER LAW is going to keep these morons in the gene pool!?!  You can't fix stupid, but you need to NOT be stupid to know that you can't FIX IT!!!

These politicians make me want to whack my head against a brick wall repeatedly, if for nothing more than to damage enough brain cells so as to be able to see WTF they're thinking!

As I read one article today, the proposal bans headphones, earbuds, cell phones, etc., in crosswalks.

QuoteKruger's bill would only apply to big cities across New York state. We don't know what kind of support it has in Albany, but he hopes that the New York City Council, which has already banned indoor smoking and trans fats in restaurants, will pick up the cue.

Hey, at least they applied the proper perspective about the kind of support this bill will have!

I've changed my mind.

I think that it's vital that we do something about stupidity.

Stupidity is the most dangerous menace facing our society today and it must be dealt with harshly.

I propose that anyone engaging in a public display of stupidity be subjected to the consequences of his own actions.

I know what the next law is going to be lets outlaw all shoes that have laces because the laces can become untied and the people could trip, fall, and kill themselves.

Pat McCotter

Ban all curbs! One can trip going up or fall going down them!
