My TSA Fish Story

I thought you might get a kick out of a shirt I made for my recent trip by airplane.

When I left Manchester, the TSA officer was "non-plussed".  He directed me to stand for additional search in the glass box.  They also took my hair stuff and shaving cream.

When I was returning from Maryland, the man behind the podium didn't quite get it, and called his supervisor over to look (as I was leaving).  I bypassed the glass box to my surprise.  The TSA Supervisor even laughed and told me she loved the shirt!  When I returned to Manchester, I had a security guard (not from the TSA) take a picture of the shirt and was sending it to his co-workers.

To be honest, I expected a more "energetic" response.  I was actually afraid to mock them, which I think made it even more important to do so.  They decided not to interrogate me or detain me so long that I would miss my flights (which is what I expected).  Maybe they expected me to be happy about the fact that they decided not to trample my rights "too much".

Oh, I'm so glad I don't fly anymore. I'd probably have been arrested many times over.

You should have been arrested, tortured, and disappeared....  I wonder how you got away?  You really work for them, don't you?

I have never worked for the TSA.  Once I found out that a company who bought a company I worked for also had a contract with the TSA.

I haven't flown in years, and not because I dislike airplanes or flying, itself.

Was that one of the see-you-naked glass boxes I'd been hearing about?

DigitalWarrior

I assume it was not a see-you-naked box.  The TSA people would never have willingly subjected themselves to that, vindictiveness or no.  It was a plexiglass box so that they could see me while keeping me separated from the other people.

It has been nearly a decade since I have been told "Stand on the yellow footprints".

Wonder what type of response would be had with a shirt from here: http://www.cafepress.com/cfgcontrol
