Interesting town in Georgia.

Kennesaw is old news. Though I like the idea of a town full of armed, law-abiding citizens, a law requiring people to own a firearm is not the right way to go about it. A self-defense firearm only works if the owner has the will to use it, if necessary, and if someone does not wish to take up that responsibility, it should not be forced upon them. I do, however, strongly suggest advocating self-defense and the associated mindset, along with showing those willing to listen that firearms are not evil creatures, but merely tools - no different in principle than an automobile, a ladder, or a hammer.

Being able to help someone use a firearm for the first time is a very cool experience, to see someone's opinion changing almost the very moment after they send their very first bullet through the paper. :)

What's news is that Kennesaw is growing like mad, and still murder-free after 25 years.

Compare this with Morton Grove, Ill., the only city in the U.S. which prohibits gun possession entirely, except for law enforcement, and to which the city of Kennesaw was responding with its gun requirement, which is in decline, with crime skyrocketing, and people moving out as fast as they can.
