Hi, I've seen it written that quote, "all porcupines float in water". Is this true? Has anyone tested this? If not, where can I find one? There don't seem to be many of them on the west coast, at least not that I've seen.

If you're planning on testing it with a live one, use caution :)  I'm not sure how kindly they'd take to the floating test.

A bunch of porcupines went swimming at Porc Fest last year, they floated.

If it doesn't float then is it a witch?

I thought you had to put them on a scale with a duck to check that.   ;D

Really? That's cool. I hope I can see some too. They are cute in an oversized hair kind of way. BTW, I could handle them w/ some thick gloves, such as the kind you use for falconing. Know any inbred landed gentry? 8-)

Here's a couple of young porcupines in the water, and one daddy porcupine protecting his young.  8)
