NHPR uses web questionnaires to gague public opinion and as a source for sound-bytes.
It's a great way to let the liberty-loving nature of New Hampshirites to shnie through :)

I signed up this morning and so far have answered a poll on what Prez candidate I support (Ron Paul) and what issues concern me (War on Drugs, War on Iraq, State involvement in Education, Taxes)

The garage sale thing was one option I saw when I looked at that page.

Just be glad you aren't one of the people who has enough useless junk to justify a garage sale -- or a full-time junk store -- but can't possibly bear the thought of parting with any of it.

Hey don't laugh, one of my roommates got through college like that.  He had an old beat up pickup truck and he'd drive around on garbage pick up days looking for old furniture people were tossing out.  He'd clean it up and bring it to "antique" stores.  He'd make $150 to about $300 a week doing this with the only payout being the cost of his gas.  He'd also scout out lawn sales looking for things he could turn around for a profit.  I remember he bought a broken watch for $1 which was actually gold.  He turned it into a scrap metal dealer for something like $75.

Hey lildog, drop me a line at nhprnewmedia@nhpr.org - I'd love to hear more about your roommate's garage sale stories!

Thanks to everyone who's contacted us through the questionnaires - it's really useful for us to hear what people actually think, rather than hearing from pundits about what they think people think.

+1 to bcarlson for being diligent in looking thru your HTTP referrer logs :)
