Not to drag this off-topic, just have a suggestion to offer.

Wear traffic safety vests; even if just to promote visibility ( they can be bought for around $5 for basic styles.) There are even models that have clear plastic sleeves on the back where flyers/signs, etc. could be inserted.

Great idea btw! If additional outings could be scheduled on the weekends, you could count me in as soon as I get up there.
