Shaws recalls 80 percent lean ground beef sold in N.H.

WEST BRIDGEWATER, Mass. (AP) -- Shaw's Supermarkets, Inc., is voluntarily recalling Shaw's Brand 80 percent lean ground beef that was sold Tuesday at its store in Lancaster, N.H., because of concerns that plastic fragments could be in the beef, company officials said.

Remnants of the material were found in the grinder, the company said. An estimated 30 packages of the product were sold Tuesday at the Lancaster, Shaws located at 199 Main Street.

The recall is limited to product sold in the Lancaster store, the company said.

The product is labeled with:

-Sell By Date: 8/16/07

-The PLU numbers are 1617 and 1606
