If you are a woman, get married and change your name, the cops call it an alias.

Kat Kanning

so you can just change your driver's license and bank info to any name you want?

Sharon will appear in court tomorrow (Friday) morning at 9 am in room 207 at the above address. The original charge, it seems, is driving on a suspended license. No idea what exactly is going to happen, though it would be nice if a person or two could show up.

If you live in NH, you can call yourself any damn thing you want, without going through a court procedure,

REALLY???!!!!  Sweet!!!  I'm changing it to Ivy for real!!!

There is an official process you can go through, though, if you want to actually use your new name on things like your drivers license, bank accounts, and so on.

I and Dale are off to the Live Free or Die festival tomorrow in Jaffrey (I'm getting a ride with Dale). There was some discussion on NH Tea Party about trying to get you up here sooner than September—if you decide to do anything tomorrow, both Dale and I volunteered to help you out, so let us know and we can come down there instead.

I personally can move anytime, but there is no where to put my belongings until September 5th in the evening.  I get my keys on the 5th around 8pm.  And it just doesn't make any sense to me to move things twice, once to where I am staying for now and then again to the apartment.  I figured the best thing would be to wait until the 8th, which is the Saturday after I get the keys.  We can get it all in one day (maybe two) and get it all there.  I have time between now and then to earn a little money at the Taproom so I can host a "Thanks for helping me move" party that night and feed all my helpers.  All in all, the timing is perfect...  just pray I don't get pulled over again between now and then LOL!  Hope you all had fun in Jaffrey!

Ah, okay. Yeah, moving sucks and doing it twice isn't worth it. I have a shooting class at the Wilson Hill Pistol Club I'm taking on that Saturday so I might be late to arrive to help with the moving; but I'll be there, and on Sunday if you still need any help then.

All about the Jaffrey event.

I'll see you at the Taproom on Tuesday!

You don't have to do this for your drivers license, although most people probably do.

Bank accounts, on the other hand, now being under the control of Homeland Security, all depositers have to be registered, etc., so you might have a tougher time.

Usually, though, its the phone company that is most resistant to a customer name change.  It seems to upset Verizon's corporate sensibilities.

That's good to know. Since the RMV requires you give your SSN to get a license, they don't get upset about a name mismatch?
