good deal. Ever used any of those cartridge refilling services? They are a lot cheaper than buying new cartridges every time, and you save the environment a little bit by keeping that much more plastic out of some landfill. In my experience, the refurbed cartridges worked BETTER than my original Lexmark ones. I don't remember the name of the service I used, but it is franchised across the US. I have one in the package here, but it's in the bottom of a moving box that I'll be lugging xcountry next week, so I'm not going in to look for it now (sorry).

Some printer manufacturers intentionally design the cartridges to not work if they're refilled.

Printer ink is one of those big scams like razors and razor blades—they sell the printer dirt cheap then sell the ink at an enormous markup. So the printer manufacturers can get quite pissy at people who try to sell cheap replacement ink for their printers. Lexmark is actually the most notorious for this, having tried to sue a company who circumvented the protection they employ on their ink cartridges against refilling.
