Knowing Russell probably bean spouts and lima beans.

Murphy's Taproom is a cool place, but the award for biggest Free Stater-owned pub clearly goes to the Keene area!   :icon_pirat:

I'm not much of a drinker, but I would like to go there with some of the guys, be fun.

Ya gotta have a kilt...other wise they make fun of ya.  There's noth'n more manly than a kilt.  The kilt is a symbol of resistant to the government and the sign of a man who is secure in his own manhood.  It's a symbol that says I don't have wear your symbol of manhood, I'm a man unto myself.

Kilts.

What a waist.   :D

I have a great vegan haggis recipe if he's interested.  Don't know if it tastes anything like real haggis but it's good regardless.

Fair fa' your honest, sonsie face,
Great chieftain o' the puddin'-race!
Aboon them a' ye tak yer place,
Painch, tripe, or thairm:
Weel are ye wordy o' a grace
As lang's my airm.

The groaning trencher there ye fill,
Your hurdies like a distant hill,
Your pin wad help to mend a mill
In time o need,
While thro your pores the dews distil
Like amber bead.

His knife see rustic Labour dicht,
An cut you up wi ready slicht,
Trenching your gushing entrails bricht,
Like onie ditch;
And then, Oh what a glorious sicht,
Warm-reekin, rich!

Then, horn for horn, they stretch an strive:
Deil tak the hindmaist, on they drive,
Till a' their weel-swall'd kytes belyve
Are bent like drums;
Then auld Guidman, maist like to rive,
'Bethankit' hums.

Is there that ower his French ragout,
Or olio that wad staw a sow,
Or fricassee wad mak her spew
Wi perfect sconner,
Looks down wi' sneering, scornfu view
On sic a dinner?

Poor devil! see him ower his trash,
As feckless as a wither'd rash,
His spindle shank a guid whip-lash,
His nieve a nit:
Thro bloody flood or field to dash,
Oh how unfit!

But mark the Rustic, haggis-fed,
The trembling earth resounds his tread,
Clap in his wallie nieve a blade,
He'll make it whissle;
An legs an arms, an heads will sned,
Like taps o thrissle.

Ye Pow'rs, wha mak mankind your care,
And dish them out their bill o fare,
Auld Scotland wants nae skinking ware
That jaups in luggies:
But, if ye wish her gratefu prayer,
Gie her a Haggis!

Yeah I'm not much of a drinker either,
but I would go.

I'm not much of a drinker either, but... haggis?  Pile that steaming sheep's gut deep and high, baby!

Oh, men in kilts wouldn't suck either.  ;)

Lloyd Danforth

Kilts sans underwear would have been a real advantage when I was a volunteer in the 'sexual revolution'.  It also adds a new level to the world being our urinal.

I dropped by the Ceilidh House today.  Plenty of parking.  Lots of room inside, and I didn't even see the upstairs.  There is no waitstaff, so if there are people in our group that do not want to order anything, no one will get offended.

In addition, families are welcome.  Therefore, the President can continue to attend meetings.

Pat K

Sounds like you found a new indoor meeting place.  ;D

Thanks for the feedback Ian...
Yeah the President really enjoys single malt scotch.

When do you want to go???

My daughters go to contra dances at the Nelson Town Hall on Monday nights and there are usually a few fellas wearing kilts there. I guess there's more at the dances they sometimes go to in Brattleboro, VT too.

I'd drive to Keene for karaoke some Friday if somebody has a couch I can crash on.

(Failing that, I could just sack out on Rep. Burridge's front lawn.)
