Summer Rent Increases?

I plan to move to Portsmouth next year. Do landlords typically jack up rates during the summer? If so, would it make more sense to wait until Sept or Oct '08 to move? I'll be just out of college and won't have much $ to blow on any extra rent costs I can avoid.

They do right on the beach.  I don't know about Portsmouth.

Hmm. I guess I'll tentatively plan on moving some time in Sept '08 then. First, I need to get my BA- then the rent-seeking will begin (pun intended).

Exactly.  I'm looking at houses in the region with an eye toward rental income.  I fully intend to jack up the rents as soon as summer hits, heh heh heh.
