Livid ... this gets me seriously livid.
This is the shit we'll be seeing (already seeing?) here soon.
That whole eternal vigilance thing all those dead guys talked about way back when...they weren't fucking kidding.  >:(

I'm amazed the government doesn't lop off people's arms or legs or organs b/c they want to.
What kind of human thinks this is the right thing to do?
And I really don't like kids, but for fucks sake!

If I were her I would vanish. Poof!

Things like these can be avoided if one never sees a MD or visits  hospitals.  These are all becoming "checkpoints" to track who is who and what is happening in their lives. Personal info databases are being compiled and updated on a regualr basis.

Orwellian  to the max.

The sad and troubling thing is that many sheeple would agree with the state taking the baby.

This is what happens when a nation confiscates people's guns.  Its also what happens when the government gets involved in healthcare.  Good article to show to anybody stupid enough to advocate the Hillary/Edwards/Obama neo-Nazi health care system.  I agree with kola.  She should flee and request asylum in another country.

A reminder of just how truly power corrupts.

I would get the heck out of there too but what if she has no where to go?   I wish I had my babies at home as long as there was someone there to give me an epidural!  I can't handle pain, I'm a chicken. ::)
I hope she gets some support and someone helps her out.  I couldn't imagine carrying my baby knowing he/she would be taken off of me right after giving birth.
I thought that mental records were private or is that a thing of the past too?  She says that she's even willing to be monitored around the clock just so she can keep her baby but I guess that's not good enough.  The govt. probably has someone willing to pay big bucks to get her baby.  It seems from things I've been reading that govts. in a lot of countries are involved in tons of rank shit having to do with children.
I remember reading that states get an x amount of money for every child placed in the system. Why?  I just don't understand it. :(

I had a hard time following the story because they buried the lead of WHY they are trying to take her baby until mid way down.  It also keeps bringing up the fact her teachers were parents which maybe I missed it but I didn't see the tie in.  Where her parents pushing to make her give up the baby?

I just don't get stories like this... She's an adult.  she's 22 years old, who wants to keep her baby.  And here they don't want to let her because someone who's never even seen her face to face has concluded she is mentally ill.
Yet I can point to numerous cases were DSS saw children abused and beaten first hand and yet allowed them to stay in abusive homes (in some cases foster homes because they've taken the child from their parents).

The question is, what can be done about things like this?

Propagate the meme that we should not support or tolerate arbitrary authority figures until the foundation for their tyranny dissolves?

*shrug*
Just brain-storming.

An ounce of prevention.  We must prevent the same conditions from arising here that allowed this to happen in the U.K. (ie. government run health care).  There are a lot of idiots out there chomping at the bit to get "free" healthcare.  Just like Socialist Security, Welfare, Farm Subsidies, etc. too many Americans are willing to sacrifice their freedom for a few goodies.  Problem is, they sacrifice our freedom in the process since too many people don't understand that "Democracy" does not entitle arbitrary enforcement of the popular will.

It's called utilitarianism, the greatest good for the greatest number, or maximizing happiness is how you likely have heard it expressed.  It is only a matter of time before 'The State' needs your lungs citizen, and while we're at it, we'll take your eyes, skin, kidneys, liver, and pancreas.  Because children with disorders need healthy organs, you will be dismantled.  AND people will think that the right thing was done.  It'll start with a couple of Terry Schiavos and will eventually be anyone who shows up at hospital.

What can be done?  How about providing her a refuge?  Take up a collection to get her out of the UK.

The author, Helen Weathers, seems to be elusive.
Hopefully I can make contact with her.

If it weren't  for all the publicity she could have just gone somewhere in the UK and had the baby and kept it.  She could, probably, take the Chunnel  and go to France.  I'm guessing she is dependent on her parents.
