Is it too soon to post my predictions for the final book?  I don't want to spoil it for anyone who hasn't finished #6 yet.

Kat Kanning

HP: Half-Blood Prince was good, but I too am more eagerly waiting for George R.R. Martin's A Feast for Crows, which is now scheduled for November 8.

But I have to mention my favorite fantasy author, Guy Gavriel Kay, author of Tigana, The Lions of Al-Rassan, The Song for Arbonne and many other quasi-historical novels, with magic thrown in.

Good ones in Boston.  I don't know about NH.

I'm not a big SF or Fantasy reader, but I just finished an excellent book: Eragon, by Christopher Paolini.

If you haven't heard the story, the author was a homeschool student who was accepted to the university, but didn't want to go at age 15. So, he took two years and wrote this book (first of a series). His family self-published the book and did their own book tour. Carl Hiaasen's stepson bought a copy, loved it, and presented it to Hiaasen. He also loved the book, and took it to Knopf, who wound up publishing the series.

The second book is out now, titled Eldest.

Wow.  That's great news.  Kat, wouldn't it be cool ir Lloyd, Kira, and you all worked a FSP table at a SF convention in Boston?  Hey, ask Friday to organize it.  That would be a great way to recruit and have a ball at the sametime.

I went last year to the worldcon.  We didn't get a table, but I walked around handing out info.  It was fun.
