RYE, N.H. --  A beach flasher police have been trying to catch for three years has begun touching women sunbathers, police said.

The man, naked and wearing a mask, has been spotted several times on Odiorne Beach, police said, adding that at least one woman said he touched her June 3.

"The man came up behind her and fondled her breasts," Chief Allen Gould said. "He was naked except for something over his head, and then he ran off into the woods."

Gould said police considered him a nuisance until the recent incident. "The physical contact is certainly an escalation over just indecent exposure, and that we don't want to see," he said.

Police have increased patrols in the area and warned beachgoers to be cautious.

If beaches were private, this guy would not have gotten away with this for THREE YEARS.   :o

I think I know what you're implying, but, Dave has lived on the seacoast for only one year ;D

Yes Ian if it was a private beach . . .

Imagine the fed gov ran it?
Today's Union Leader quotes Linda Murphy of the U.S. Enviromental Protection Agency as saying, "We've had too many summers where you couldn't swim.  In 2004, one-quarter of the 1000 beaches in New England were unsafe to swim.  There were 1000 days when it was unsafe to swim.  That's unacceptable."

Hmmm, 1000 days?   :o  I can't seem to remember beach season even lasting that long in 2004.  Well, maybe I missed somthing.   :o
