In conjunction with Reason Magazine, Drew Carey is hosting a new webcast exploring libertarian solutions to government problems. Sort of a cross between Penn & Teller, and John Stosell.

Very cool!!

As for an hour and a half commute every day,
Well I know people who do it, but I would rather
stick an ice pick in my eye socket.

I know people who do that here. The difference is, they live 80-100 miles from work, and even our two-lane highways have 70mph speed limits.

I could live with 2 hours of total commute time.  That is how long the Free Talk Live podcast lasts.

Damn I messed up I meant an hour and a half each way.

3 hours, Keith you would have to get Ian to do another hour.

That's all it took to get me going. Surprisingly enough, it was P&T that helped jumpstart my brain in terms of Libertarian thinking. I feel like a whole world has opened up since.

His show who's line is it anyway is one of my favorites.

For some reason I haven't found a Drew Carey show that I didn't like.

Well, the Saturday show would cover 2 of those days.  Maybe Gard's or Mark's podcast the other 3 hours.

Wait, Mark has his own podcast?

I have a 45 minute commute. The speed limit is 110km/h (68mph) most of the way. We usually drive at around 130km/h (80mph). I know people who regularly drive around 90mph. The speed limits on many highways are too low. There are multiple conditions I reccomend should be met should you choose to drive over 70mph, like good whether conditions, oncoming traffic seperated, multiple lanes, no steep turns, no hills that make you not be able to see far ahead of you, etc, but as long as those conditions are met, I don't think it's irresponsible to drive 80 or 90 miles an hour, or even fast if you can handle it. Germany has no speed limits on its highways. Instead there's a general reckless driving law. If you're driving in a way that endangers the people around you, you can get huge fines or even your license taken away. Reckless driving may or not include driving quicker than what's responsible, but driving quickly is not illegal in itself.

Oh and here's a video of a guy driving 194mph on the autobahn ;D

Speeding fines are extremely severe over here, but we don't have highway cops, and very few highways have speeding cameras, and there's a law that says the government has to put out a sign before speeding cameras, so people know they're coming up and slow down. As a result, speeding is common. I can't say I have a problem with it.
