Help!!!

Many of you will remember the epic anti-RealID rally that took place in Concord last year, and the spiffy wooden stage that various New Hampshire liberty luminaries trod upon.  Well, I am trying to find a way to get this stage from its current resting spot at jaqeboy's house in Amherst to Murphy's.  Time is of the essence, because for reasons too heinous to go into, the stage may be trashed at any moment.  It won't fit in my car, and I'm not strong enough to lift it anyway.  I need one open-bed pickup truck with a 4' wide bed, and two or more people with strong backs.  I know a bunch of you are going to be at Murphy's tomorrow night anyway; think how much tastier the beer will taste after a little hard labor!  Can anyone help me/the LPNH/Keith Murphy out?

Um, I think Lloyd is doing his infamous Friday impression on this thread.  :D

But can he do the Berserker Babe part, I think not.

how long of a drive is Amherst from Manchester?  I've got a truck and, aside from a housekeeping appt I am not doing anything during the day tomorrow, and I have to work at the Taproom tomorrow night anyways...

According to Mapquest it is 15.54 miles south west of Manchester.

It's not that far; it's south of Manchester on 101.  What time does your shift start?  And more importantly, who will come do a bit of heavy lifting for the JelloWrestling Babe and the Berserker?   There's beer at the destination.  I guarantee it.   :_WeightOfTheWorld__by_Ugghhzi  :occasion14:

Would that I could be in the area to grunt and sweat (perspire?) with Ivy and the Berserker Babe, but, alas, I am too far away with my gas guzzling truck :'(
All I could do was put the original request where folks would see it.

Lloyd and Ivy:
I can help move the stage.  I'll PM you with my phone number.  Any time today is fine.

Friday

This is where the stage is:

Quote
The place is at 300 State Route 101, Amherst 03031 and the stages are right at the edge of the parking area, next to the camper. They should fit in the back of a regular sized pickup. It's okay to just show up and take them. If a woman named Lola asks you what you're doing, just tell her Jack said it's okay.
FYI, the stage is in two pieces, and I have been told the pieces are 150 lbs each (but have also been told they don't really weigh that much, so I don't know!)

Ivy, I can meet you there at 3:00, but would prefer later (I generally work until at least 5:30).  Taxinator, what time could you be there?  I'm thinking I could be there to help load, but probably won't be needed to help unload in Manchester as there are sure to be other Porcs loitering networking in the bar at that time.  I live in Nashua and would prefer to not have to drive all the way to Manchester to help unload, but I can if necessary.

Ivy, I'll call you later if you don't post an update here.  Taxinator, you didn't send me your number, so I guess Ivy will have to serve as a go-between.  Thank you both so much for offering to help!!!

How did it go, guys?   :blob6:

Curious minds want to know.  They are probably at Keiths, celebrating, drunk, dropping their guns all over the place.

sorry i went straight from dropping off stage to shower, get ready, and head straight back in to Murphys to work.   It went fine.  Stage delivered and in back room!

:thanks:  Thanks again!  It's not just a load off my mind, but it would be a shame to lose the stage built by the Honorable J. Winters (amongst others).  I'm sure we can find a new parking spot for it (since it can't stay where it was) and get more use out of it in the future.

Karma for you and Taxinator!   :blowkiss:

Will the -*ahem*- "back room stage" feature a pole and/or jello?

;D

Lighting the stage would be nice... colored lighting would give it a real stage feeling.
