Glad it's just Ohio!! :phew:

I either didn't know you were from ohio, or forgot.  I'm originally from columbus, lived for a few years in canton, 10 minutes walking from the pro football hall of fame.
Penet flag.

Knowledge is power.

Not that anyone but me would actually care, but the Massachusetts Flag in that chart is wrong.

Actually, it doesn't have Massachusetts on there. There is some state called "Massachutes," however.

I thought the state was called Taxachusetts. Or was it Massholia?

Romak

When referring to MA we always say "I dont give Massa2shits"

I don't think I knew you were from there either.  I was born and raised in the Cincinnati area.  Went to school in Dayton, Ohio but spent a lot of time inbetween Cincinnati and Columbus.  I'm actually headed back to Cincy this weekend for a wedding.  Have you checked out this airline yet . . . www.skybus.com?  It's awesome!!!  I've flown from Portsmouth, NH to Columbus three times this summer and the most it has cost me round trip is $80.  What part of Columbus are you from?

No, No, No, Those Flags are all wrong!!! None of them are facing backward!

The new U.S. Flag G.W. has our soldiers, and everyone else wearing, faces the wrong way to indicate the direction they're moving our country.

It's a perfect example of how screwed up our government has become if they can't even display our nation's flag properly.

I've got more at www.fixourflag.org if anyone wants to check it out.

This is nothing new. The flag has been displayed this way on cops and aircraft for decades. At least as far back as 1998. That's when I remember asking a cop why the flag was "backwards" on their uniforms. I was in the back of a squad car at the time.
It is simply a way of representing a flag as though it were a real flag blowing in the wind as seen from the right.

At the bottom of the page of this link is a good explanation.

This sounds a lot like the folks that get all bent out of shape over an upside down US flag. They just don't know what it means.

Edit: I was just looking at the Fix Our Flag webstie and right their on the home page they have it all wrong.
QuoteThis effort is in response to the backward American Flag added to the Army field uniform on February 3rd of 2005 by the Secretary of the Army, General Peter J. Schoomaker, United States Army Chief of Staff, under Regulation 670-1 (chapter 28, Wear and Appearance of Army Uniforms and Insignia, which authorizes the wear of the reverse: side full-color U.S. Flag cloth replica on utility and organizational uniforms on a permanent basis). Unfortunately in doing this, General Schoomaker overstepped his authority while at the same time increasing the danger to our troops. Rank, insignia, and unit patches are "subdued" on camouflaged uniforms in order for our troops to remain unseen by the enemy. Incorporating a brightly colored flag on our soldiers' field uniform gives the enemy a target.

What Schoemaker did was just make the US Flag standard wear on all US Army uniforms. Before this, the US Flag was worn only on the uniforms of soldiers overseas in countries like Bosnia and Germany. Since the Army will be at war for the foreseeable future the regulation was changed because all soldiers are being deployed over and over again. This just makes it easier on the soldier and the supply chain. No more taking the flag on and off every time the soldier comes home and gets deployed six months later.
With the new Advanced Combat Uniform the  process is even easier due to the addition of velcro patches. As stated in the above paragraph " Incorporating a brightly colored flag on our soldiers' field uniform gives the enemy a target." This is true. Which is why when a soldier is in the field he usually either takes off the Flag and Unit insignia, or replaces it with the IR sensitive version of the flag patch.
This point is rather moot though, soldiers don't hide in jungles in the current war. They trundle down roads in armored vehicles. You can't camouflage yourself when patrolling down the streets of Baghdad.

Sorry for the long post. I have a bit of intimate knowledge in this topic.
