MRSA outbreaks - How to get proactive

Just thought I'd share a tidbit as the news of MRSA (Methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus) outbreaks come in from all over the country. My mother died of MRSA several years ago due to a medical mistake so I naturally follow that sort of news rather closely.

The University of Manchester in England has been doing MRSA and VRSA research for several years. They completely eradicated MRSA outbreaks in a hospital by introducing a cocktail of three essential oils into the air. They've been pretty tight lipped about which oils they used but I've got two figured out. Melaleuca Alternafolia (common tea tree oil) and geranium oil. The last one is a toss up between lavender and patchouli. Using both is probably not a problem as they both smell great. They used an electronic dispersal but I'm sure the candle powered diffuser would work as well or better in a home. We also use tea tree as a topical antiseptic.

Also they introduced an ozone generator into the incoming washing machine water. Apparently that kills MRSA as well. I have a Living Air air cleaner in my house. It generates ozone. I found out from making calls to the spa stores that ozone generators are standard issue for new hot tubs. Interesting.

Hope that's not too much information. Just thought I'd share that in case there are other parents out there like me that would rather be pro-active than wait and see.

Addendum: I don't know how many of you listen to the Power Hour in the morning but this morning Joyce cited a source that said Bentonite Clay is a cure for active MRSA. She also mentoned charcoal and oil of oregano. Just something to put in the back of your minds if you ever need it.

Thanks for bringing this up I've been following it also.  I'm sorry about your mom.  :hug45: My sister was in the hospital a couple of years ago and they diagnosed her with cellulitis, is that the same as MRSA?
This is very scary, if you don't mind can I ask you where you got your Living Air cleaner and about how much did it cost?  How does the air cleaner help regarding MRSA?  I thought it was bacterial from touching not airborne?
Thanks! :)

I never heard of the show but I have heard of bentonite clay before; I think it cleanses heavy metals from the body too, right?  I love oreganol anytime I have a sore throat I put a couple drops down my throat and it's all better. :)

Thanks again!

They're probably tight-lipped about it because it's hashish oil  :icon_pirat:

IMO, Every medicine cabinet should have a bottle of tea tree oil in it. Great for infections of any kind and works well for toothaches, to name a couple of additional uses. I'm sure there are more as well.

Need to apply conservatively if used uncut, as it is a very potent extract.

The Power Hour (http://www.thepowerhour.com) is a show I have listened to for years. I listen on shortwave but they are on GCN as well. http://www.gcnlive.com

One of the show's hosts is Dave VonKleist who performed at the Brown's July this year.  8)

Yes Bentonite Clay does Chelate. It's good as a topical or swallowed. I used to take Oregamax but have been out for some time. I'm going to order some oil today. Getting ready to "hunker down in the foxhole".

Yes cellulitis is like MRSA in that it is caused by normal flora (staph or strep) gone wild. It is normally less aggresive than MRSA but in rare cases can lead to necrotizing fascitis which is nasty, nasty stuff.

As far as ozone goes staph and strep cannot flourish in an ozone rich environment regardless if it is air or water. When I bought my machine I did the naughty thing I usually do with high ticket items - I go to my local retailer and look them over and then go to eBay and get it at half price. You can also go to Google and type in "ozone machine" and you will come up with lots of hits. The one that the Power Hour sells is the Nature Clean Ozone Machine.

As an aside I hired my friend the lawyer to sue the hospital/doctor that made the mistake with my mother. After running out my statute of limitations he announced that he could not take the case because the payoff would only be $1M. Too small!!!  :o

He then went on to become mayor of my hometown.

Politicians, lawyers and doctors all get paid full price regardless of the success of their mission. Funny ol' world, isn't it?

Oh my gosh!  Doesn't it figure?  So the hospital got off "scott free"?   I'm going to check out the ozone machines later, thanks! :)

Here's a list of "secondary" oils I ruled out in trying to find the three U of M oils. They still have strong properties against bacterias and some against yeast. Most are broad spectrum.

Grapefruit Seed Extract
Garlic
Ginger
Olive leaf extract
Peppermint
Berberine
Echinacea
Honey
New Zealand Manuka Plant
Australian Jelly Bush

Rotating the oils would probably be a great idea. Some like the oils from down under might be a little hard to get but the others are readily available.  ;D

I've heard of coffee enemas but don't you need a special colonic unit to do these?  Or do you just buy an enema bag and stick the hose up your butt?  Sorry if it sounds gross but what other way could I have asked? :)

LOL..no you must follow the Gerson protocol to avoid dehydration and loss of electrolytes. Even preparing the coffee solution must be by the book.

This is one coffee that won't be going up anyones butt.  ;D
