In the grand tradition of Alec's thread regarding Manchester, I wanted to start a thread about renting in Keene.

At our house we have been renting out a room to Caleb for more than a year now. He has been a great friend and roommate. He is crazy ... but my kind of crazy. :) He always paid on time and was a good person to rent to. I would recommend him to anyone in the future. He is moving out and going to CA, so we have a room opening up that is probably getting filled by Menno. We will know that by Sunday.

We have also rented to Dada off and on over the last few years. He is another great roommate and unlike Ed Brown, we appreciate his cleanliness. :)

David will be renting a room from us starting Wednesday.

We will keep people posted about our experiences and availability.

Are there rooms currently available for rent? Is there a set price per room per month?

Thanks for starting this and I hope you find a renter or two!

Russell Kanning

I am waiting to hear from Menno and get his first payment on Sunday. So if he takes one room we are full for now.

Russell Kanning

yep ... he is leaving our movement. He is going to the land of smog and flames.

Menno has chosen not to take Caleb's place, so we will have a room available after the 9th.

Why would anyone want to move to California FROM New Hampshire? It boggles the mind.

Russell Kanning

Lots of people move to Ca. .... from mexico .... the natives are fleeing by the millions .... Caleb will find out why. I also here that the entire state of Mass. is shrinking .... are you still on the ship? ;)

Porcupine_in_MA

Yeah its shrinking and sinking from socialism, and we're still holding on for a little while.
Caleb will find out, the hard way I guess.

Tell Caleb he's nuts. I was born and raised here in the Socialist state of CA and I've finally had it. Me and the old lady are leaving all of our family and friends to move to NH. The ONLY two things that I like about CA are the sunny weather, and the fact that all my family and friends are here (I'm not real attached though, hehe).

I'd be glad to answer any questions he may have about how F-ed up it is here.

It's no use. I had a whole day in Keene to hang out with Caleb and with my 8 years of experience in L.A. I could not dissuade him. He's just got to go there and decide for himself if it suits him.

Dreepa

yeah leaving CA was a GREAT thing for me and my family.

Russell... I have had a few people ask me:

How many rooms?
How much?
Is it furnished?

Wow, I remember those days....

Once upon a time, I had to learn everything the hard way. Years and years later, I got a little smarter and realized it's OK for me to learn something from other's experiences. The end.

3 bedrooms, mostly furnished.  Kitchen is stocked with dishes, until our house is done and we take all of our stuff.

Is the Mass territory being annexed by "the shire"?
yes ... physically and otherwise

1 room available after Friday
26 pieces of silver per month (or weekly ... or dollars, but that gives you an idea)
utilities and cable internet included
older trailer ... no fancy house
quiet neighborhood
all freestater home
debate available many hours a day
often see ridley reports before they air worldwide
2 miles from downtown Keene
easy access to swamp
black helicopters rarely seen
has not been raided by feds for months now
