They have remote camera clickers and timed cameras. You put the camera on the tripod and either click the remote in your hand or run to your position before the timer clicks the picture.

I was lazy and just grabbed someone elses image... no Photoshop magic on my part...

Although I did find an image listed as a Yeti that was quite disturbing...
