Kira's watching some enviro-maniac movie, but I sure like the whales.  It's such an incredible sight to be right up next to one.  They're so huge and peaceful and graceful.

You can go out whale-watching from Hilton's Dock in Newburyport, Mass. or from Portsmouth. It's cool. Not sure what the right season is for it (other than it's going to be freakin' cold out there now if there's a wind).

Kira and I went down to Baja during the time when the whales migrate down there to have their babies.  We went out on a little boat among the whale.  A mother and calf stayed with us for a long time - the calf seemed curious about us -  and we got to lean out and pet them.  The mother bumped the boat up once, going underneath us.  It terrified some of the tourists with their expensive camera equipment.  They were both much much bigger than the boat.    We saw hundreds of whales that day, jumping out of the water and stuff.  Amazing.

I would guess whales are next to NH in summer .... they don't have 9-5 jobs ... they get to move where the weather is nice :)

I like them with a little soy sauce.

The Norwegian grilled whale steak is also good, but it's like...  Why pretend this is beef when it isn't, it's something totally different!

It's true, we eat whale, and it's quite good.

Friday

I went whale watching once off the California coast... turns out I get seasick.   :puke:  I spent the entire trip either sitting with my head between my legs, or leaning over the side to barf.  My friend would come check on me periodically and tell me how I just missed a whale leaping in front of the boat etc.  :(

Wow, that must have been amazing!  :D We saw some when we took a whale tour boat in Mass. last month but nothing like your experience.

We did that, too, Friday.  I wore these wristbands that are supposed to stop seasickness.  It worked great, until I got back on shore and took them off and then I could feel all the seasickness!  :o

So you like whales do ya?  How do feel about sharks?

William wants to get this remote control shark so he can sneak up on you next summer in the pool.  He's been planning and laughing about this for days. >:D
