Jane, are you going to clarify or retract your statement about Ian calling the DOJ on you?

This was hashed out when it happened. There is no need to bring it up again.

Except you brought it up . . . .

Yes well, after he made some snide comment about wishing I would leave that was totally uncalled for.

Having a huge temper tantrum over the fact that someone made a website for themselves without consulting you and then trying to drum up a smear campaign to punish them for it, is not really very amusing. But then, it is par for the course I guess.

I agree with you about the forum(s): That we have multiple forums is fine; the situation will work itself out via the usual free-market forces. I'm waiting on the NHLA forum myself, but it doesn't have to be the only forum, and people getting upset that you and Lex are volunteering to set up parallel forums sound like they have some control issues of their own to work out.

It's this back-and-forth bickering and the attendant histrionics (on everyone's part), on a board called the "Childish Board" that's amusing.

If you're going to make public accusations, you can't possibly be surprised when people ask for more details.

It was quite puzzling that he went off on me like that. I mean, the minute I saw the email I simply mailed back and said hey guys, I have a forum nearly all set up, and you're welcome to use it. POWEEEE! You might have thought I said/did something BAD!!!!

NHLA had a forum before and it was shut down, as well as a mailing list, for 'control' issues. And as to the charge I would use the karma system at my 'whim' that's ridiculous. I would never even install one. I like to think of my forum as the 'friendly forum', even the primary section. I don't like to think of it being run by a group with a 'board' either. They already have a bill review forum and should stick with that one area of work. Also, the idea that you can use your NHLA log in -- well some people do not belong to NHLA nor would they have a reason to join if they are out of state.

As I said before, you may not have been around when it happened but I'm sure others know what I am referring to.
It's about using below the belt tactics and it's something that really happened to me a result of something he did. Period.

"Meanwhile, being called a racist has gotten the US DOJ as well as the UN Agency for Discrimination on my tail simply for publicly denouncing the UN! Thank you Ian." -- from this thread

Really?  Ian called you a racist and that's all it took for the US DOJ to get on your tail?  Christ, it's that easy?  You spent a lifetime fighting the Republican cause without incident, then suddenly you're called a racist and the DOJ starts harassing you?  Wow.  I'm going to try that trick next time I need to take out a business competitor or something.  Girl says no when you ask her out on a date?  Just call her a racist, let the DOJ handle it.

[sarcasm]No, you didn't. [sarcasm]

You decided to not wait for anyone's else input and shortcircuit any discussion and do your own thing, despite that we asked you NOT to do so repeatedly.

In other words, you DID something bad, if your intention was to work well with others.  But you refuse to admit you've done anything wrong...

Bullshit.  Again, you have already been told that was not true.  It was shutdown because it was quiet and gave a false impression of the NHLA not being very active, since there were (and ARE) more than one active mailing list for the NHLA (I can think of 2 active ones right now), combined with nhfree's forum, etc, so there was no space in the limited niche for 'yet another forum'

Despite your claims: the forum wasn't shut down because of any 'control' issues.  Since I was the webmaster when it was setup, and Rich Tomasso was the chair, we saw a quiet forum, NOT a silenced one and eventually it was turned off.

Jane, once again, you make up your own version of history, to justify yourself.  That's disgusting.

What are you talking about?  I was not aware that you accused me of snitching you out to the DOJ before, so I don't believe we hashed anything out about it.

Are you suggesting that me calling you a racist on an Internet forum is the equivalent of me actually calling the Department of Justice on you?

Also, I'm sure many are wondering how exactly the agencies allegedly contacted you.  Do you have evidence of your claims?  Is the UN Agency for Discrimination a secret organization? Google returns no results for "UN Agency for Discrimination".

I like the new tags. Especially the Waaaambulance.  :)

An observation: Why does the majority of strife seem to always come from the political types?
A clarification: This is a generalization, I know that there are political types out there that aren't assholes.
A croissant: Delicious bread.

Perhaps she has you confused with the other Ian from Free Talk Live.  :-\

Uh, I think you are still discussing and I never told you to stop discussing and no one told me to stop doing anything.

All I did was let people know I'd started a forum a while ago and could revive it, which to me is something *GOOD*. If they weren't happy with it that's their choice to not use it and make their own! Free country!? I assume they are still talking about it, and will continue to talk about it... I would never think of telling them to stop! Short circuiting is ridiculous.

Please learn to control your temper in the future. If that's all it takes to get you pissed off, wow.
