Actually, I would like to do a ride across NH, but during a time when I have at least a few days vacation.  Maybe December or January.   ;D

Got snow tires for that trike?

Ever considered doing anything like RAGBRAI?

The topography of Iowa and New Hampshire are noticeably different.  ;)

Actually I do have a carbide studded snow tire for the back wheel of the trike.  It's made by Nokian.  The brakes are independent, and can be a challenge to adjust so that they provide the same braking pressure on both sides when you apply identical hand pressure.  The operator can choose to squeeze one side more than the other if they like.  By the way, I'm down to 188 lbs.

Something called a trikke.  I have never seen anything like it.

Of all the names that must have been proposed during design, that's the one that passed? A three wheeled vehicle called a trike... original.

I am playing around with the idea of at some point buying a recumbent trike(a real bike, not the 'trikke' that I posted above),  or even a rhodes car.  Any suggestions, comments, about any experience you may have had, etc would be apprieciated.
As I get in better shape, the idea of longer distance riding in some comfort sound appealing.  I lean in favor of a recumbent trike because they seem slightly more performence oriented than the rhodes car.   :-\  OR, I may just buy a comfort bike from Andy's or Norms for one half to one third the price.  Haven't decided.

Ethan runs a dealership at Wildfire HPV in Arundel, Maine. He's a trike and velomobile activist and would love to have you check out the models he has.

Its cheating, its a bit heavy, but it is electric assist to help up hills, and is advertized that it can run for a few miles completely powered.   ;D $300 I am seriously considering it.  I can't handle nh hills too well, and one of my goals is to bike to Manchester.  Oh, I am uncertain if it is accurate, but they are advertized as not needing a license or registration, for most of them except the real fancy ones at myebike.biz

It is sold on Amazon, and you can help out free talk live via their link to Amazon,
http://www.amazon.com/Trailz-Electric-Comfort-26-Inch-Wheels/dp/B0017K2ZKA/ref=sr_1_1/187-7036487-6705161?ie=UTF8&s=sporting-goods&qid=1232418955&sr=8-1
It can also be found here with a bunch of really neat stuff advertized as electric bicyles
http://www.myebike.biz/Electric-BicyclesMopeds/E-Zip-2008-Mountain-Trailz-Hybrid-Electric-Bike/
http://www.myebike.biz/Electric-BicyclesMopeds/
and of course, it can be found for the same price at Walmart

I have a RecumbentUSA Trike II, which with a little work and some parts, is a decent trike.  The factory idler wheel is crappy, and will need to be replaced, and the rear derailleur will probably need to be replaced eventually with one that is all metal.  Add some fenders, lights and a horn, and you've got a pretty nice trike.  This auction is less than a day from ending: http://cgi.ebay.com/NEW-RECUMBENT-TRIKE-II-BIKE-ALUMINUM-NO-RESERVE_W0QQitemZ270330437164QQcmdZViewItemQQptZLH_DefaultDomain_0?hash=item270330437164&_trksid=p3286.c0.m14&_trkparms=72%3A1205%7C66%3A2%7C65%3A12%7C39%3A1%7C240%3A1308%7C301%3A1%7C293%3A1%7C294%3A50
The title says Trike II, but the photos are of a Trike X, which is a more expensive suspended model.  If you pay $1000 or less for it including shipping, I'd say it's a good deal, and if what you get turns out to be the Trike X, then even better.

Just saw this photoblog of wierd bikes on wired:

I wanted to share it with those welding fanatics south of Keene.
