BTW  Methinks that Matt will be arriving at this thread soon.
Just a WILD guess though.

It is by far the best thing I've ever put inside my mouth.

Poor guy; and I though I needed to get out more.  :biglaugh:

Hehehe. I set this one up, and thought nobody was going to take it. I'm glad someone finally did!  :icon_pirat:

Right now, I'm drinking Rochefort 10, one of the finest beers in the world http://www.ratebeer.com/beer/rochefort-trappistes-10/2360/

It is by far the best thing I've ever put inside my mouth. Any other resident beer snobs with recommendations?
:occasion14:

Is Rochefort 10 available in NH or Mass.?

After searching around the usual places online, I haven't been able to tell. You may just want to check with your favorite knowledgeable store or their distributor to see if it's available in NH. That's usually the very best way to determine whether something has distribution in a specific state or not. If not, I'm sure it's in one of the bordering states.

Buying my beer and my whiskey/scotch at different places is going to feel really weird at first. I've never even been to a state where they run the liquor stores before.

I just discovered this one the other day.  I've never had any beers by Ommegang before but I'm going to definitely check out their other selections after trying this amber, Rare Vos.  I'm usually not a huge amber fan either but it was delish  ;D

Oh, and I'm currently sipping on a Stonemill.

Most beer snobs (myself included) usually wouldn't give it a chance because it's brewed by Anheuser-Busch but it's pretty good too.  It's their attempt at making an organic beer.

Oh yum! You won't be disappointed by their other stuff, it's all good. I like that it's basically brewed Belgian style, but it's made in New York.

Sam Adams Utopias... the alcohol content (above 20%).

Perhaps I should try something new. Mass. isn't too far away and I do need to return to CT at some point in the near future. >:D

Remember that if you go down to Massachusetts, they've a mandatory one-year minimum for people caught with an unlicensed firearm in that state.

I think the New England Real Ale Exhibition is well worth the trip down to Davis Square...

The people who invented beer make a pretty good Hefe-Weizen:
QuoteEven if it is hard to believe, there was a time when beer was not brewed at Weihenstephan. Of course that was way back even before the birth of Charlemagne, before the Crusades and, where Munich now stands, there were then just a few cows at pasture.
...
The year 725 was a decisive turning point for Weihenstephan: in that year, Saint Corbinian together with twelve companions, founded a Benedictine monastery on Nährberg Hill and, consciously or unconsciously, also founded the art of brewing at Weihenstephan.
..
The first historical reference to hops at Weihenstephan was in the year 768. At that time there was a hop garden in the vicinity of the Weihenstephan Monastery, whose owner was obligated to pay a tithe of 10 per cent to the monastery. It is an obvious conclusion that these hops were brewed in the monastery.
...
In 1040 beer brewing officially began at Weihenstephan. That year Abbot Arnold succeeded in obtaining from the City of Freising a licence to brew and sell beer. That hour marked the birth of the Weihenstephan Monastery Brewery.

OH NO! Beer was invented only because of coercive church tithes! My beloved beer was born out of evil and immoral taxation! How will I ever be able to enjoy it the same again?

*glug glug glug* mmmmmmmmm...  >:D

I forget the name, but there used to be a German smoked beer, I always thought was quite delicious.  I still have my preference for Sam Adams.

He knows. There is one in CT too.  No one has ever served it.

I love German smoked Beer.
Rauchenfelser Steinbrau is my favorite.

Hard to find and a bit spensive but worth it.

The Egyptians had beer long before the monks at Weihenstephan.  ;)

Weihenstephan Hefeweizen isn't bad. I prefer Maisel's, though.

There are several varieties of Rauchbier (smoked beer); they originated in Bayreuth, which is where Maisel's is brewed.

I generally avoid drinking things that I can't pronounce or that cost very much. I get a lot of pleasure out of a dollar cigar.  I figure a $10 cigar or a $100 bottle of wine should, at a minimum, provide an orgasm.
