Looks like Mr. Hunchback had a different sort of phone-related problem:

Faber is right, that was a complete non-sequitur.  You cannot reasonably draw that conclusion (support or opposition to a ban) from my statement.

What I meant, if it wasn't already obvious, is that the industry is knowingly downplaying the health risks of cell phone usage and lying to the public, just as the tobacco companies lied about the dangers of smoking.

I believe the manufacturers of cell phones and their equipment should be required to disclose the risks truthfully.  But I don't support a cell phone ban nor do I support a smoking ban.

Personally, I'd love to see cell phones go the way of the dinosaur.  They're obnoxious, polluting, and expensive.  Worst of all, our socially incompetent society doesn't integrate them well, resulting in all sorts of rude behavior that we could all do without.

But, but, but...the FCC is there to protect us! The cell phone manufacturers can't be lying! The FCC would know it and put them in jail!

QuoteIn 1973, biologist Robert Becker was approached by the U.S. Navy Commander Paul Tyler to serve on a panel of experts to evaluate some experiments that the Navy had funded. These were in connection with an antenna system the Navy was planning to build in northern Wisconsin that involved grids of buried wires that would extend over thousands of square miles of land. It was to be used for communication with submerged submarines.

That was one of the VLF transmitter antennas to send flash traffic to subs, the very low frequencies were able to
penetrate seawater so the commander could receive a message while below the surface.   The Navy cant change the
laws of physics, and an electromagnetic antenna in the VLF range would need to be miles long to have sufficient
gain to transmit a message, and if I knew I lived next to one I would move at once.  I believe Michigan
has one as well.

I didn't draw a conclusion from it... I drew a suppostion (assumption) for further clarification.

It came across pretty aggressive.  I'm sure it wasn't your intent . . . but you may want to work out a new way of phrasing things so you come across more clearly :)

pug-ugly
Ad hominem attacks are expected in places like this, but insulting the guy's dog? ;D
Even if it would fit in a microwave for experimental purposes, it's just not fair.

I wonder if this is what its like to have lived back in the 1930s regarding cigarettes.  Anybody with sense should have been able to figure out they were harmful, the industry kept telling us they weren't.  Slowly, as the proof becomes irrefutable, will people gradually migrate away from these obnoxious devices?

It is a disservice to lump all microwave sources together.  The exposure from cell phones (towers or handsets) is far greater than WiFi or long-distance communication towers.

when it is all about "making money" it takes a long time to find the truth.

cell phones, microwave oven , wifi etc. They are all little things that add up which causes the probs . Just like all the additives, chemicals and preservatives in food. Yeah, a little won't hurt us  but start adding up how many we expose ourselves to in a day....all these things will not kill us instantly but they will put undue stresses on the mind body and spirit which will lower the immune system. Take notice how many people are sick as of late, especially kids. it is all addding up and taking its toll.

Nature has its own laws. we have violated all of them.
