I'd like to introduce you to a very dangerous chemical.  It's called "dihydrogen monoxide."  It is a wasteproduct of most fossil fuel combustion, and over-exposure can cause dermal damage, and even death.  It causes erosion, and the comet that probably killed the dinosaurs was composed largely of this chemical.  It is a "greenhouse gas," and is produced by most automobiles during operation.  Speaking of automobiles, it also leads to unsafe driving conditions during the winter.  Certain "unscrupulous" companies actually sell this chemical in bottled drinks, endangering the consumers for profit.

Clearly, we need to address this issue!  Ban dihydorgen monoxide immediately!

Okay, someone actually just contacted me and asked how I could possibly be supporting a ban on something, being an anarchist and all.

The post was tounge-in-cheek - dihydrogen monoxide is another name for H2O... water.

The point being that anything can be dangerous, in the right application.  Comparing someone practically sticking his head into a microwave oven to the use of a cellular phone is just flat-out dishonest.

This is exactly my point.  These items aren't in the same class at all, public ignorance about the nature of radiation allows these myths to perpetuate.

Owl, we have raped and polluted the land, contaminated the sky with pollutants (Deplete Uranium, barium, aluminum, nuke bombs, etc) and disrupted the earths natural magnetic resonance with experimental weather modification and electromagnetic fields. Our waters are nothing more than oversized toilet bowls and it is killing (and threatening) every form of life that exists in it. To say humans have destroyed and went against every natural law is an understatement.


Evidence on disease increases? jesus, owl..where do I start? When I was a kid I hardly heard of someone needing a nebulizer. Kids with allergies was practically unheard of....and years ago if a kid got a flu or a cold he missed 1-2 days of school. Now we see kids (and adults) getting sick for weeks on end, finally reovering and then relapsing.  
Ear infections?? its fricken in epidemic porportions these days. Just look around.then remeber and compare ten years from now as it will continue to get worse. Our weakness is a poor functioning immune system. As our immune systems become bombarded by everything we eat and everything that surrounds us (air, water and land) we gradually become worn down. We will all become similar to a AIDS patient where a simple cold will kill us.

Fine, but you can't rule out advances in diagnosis and changing standards, not to mention extended lifespans.  Why are the number of "special-ed" students growing so quickly, is it something in the water?  No, its because it funnels money to special interests.  Take these statistics with a grain of NaCl.
