Here's a novel idea.  Lets get the government out of healthcare altogether.  That includes mandating employer provided insurance, the FDA and medical licensure.  "Personal Healthcare Accounts" still sounds like unnecessary corruption-feeding government intrusion.

You can do vote trading, in which you convince a Rep or Indy to vote for Paul, and you vote for his candidate.  That way, Paul gets an extra vote, and his candidate wins the vote.  Find someone you trust who isn't registered as a Dem.

If you're a registered Democrat, please vote for Obama.  Its the best chance we have of keeping Hitlery out of office.  Worry about who the most "Ron Paul-like" candidate is in the general election.

Quoteoh +1 for you!!  fuck, I'll +1 you every chance I get for the next week for this statement!!!   exactly!!!!!!!!

Why thank you.  I must say, I found that "personal healthcare accounts" to be very un-Libertarian and quite surprising from someone like Ron Paul.  I'd like to believe he's lying on this point, to snare mild statists into supporting him.

Where did he suggest mandating HSAs? I believe you've misheard what he said.

no, catnipwarz is matt aka rocketman, isn't it?  though bill rose and ronpailsgotballs speak identically...

Definitely not Rocketman (although I certainly support the decriminalization of catnip).

Don't let the Bob Marley photo fool you!

Ah, okay. What Paul actually says is that he wants everyone eligible for an HSA, without restrictions or requirements. That's not nearly the same as putting everyone into an HSA whether they want it or not.

It is time to take back our health care. This is why I support:

-Making all medical expenses tax deductible.
-Eliminating federal regulations that discourage small businesses from providing coverage.
-Giving doctors the freedom to collectively negotiate with insurance companies and drive down the cost of medical care.
-Making every American eligible for a Health Savings Account (HSA), and removing the requirement that individuals must obtain a high-deductible insurance policy before opening an HSA.
-Reform licensure requirements so that pharmacists and nurses can perform some basic functions to increase access to care and lower costs.

By removing federal regulations, encouraging competition, and presenting real choices, we can make our health care system the envy of the world once again.
