ITALIAN SAYS 9-11 SOLVED

It's common knowledge, he reveals, CIA, Mossad behind terror attacks

By the Staff of American Free Press

Former Italian President Francesco Cossiga, who revealed the existence of Operation Gladio, has told Italy's oldest and most widely read newspaper that the 9-11 terrorist attacks were run by the CIA and Mossad, and that this was common knowledge among global intelligence agencies. In what translates awkwardly into English, Cossiga told the newspaper Corriere della Sera:

"All the [intelligence services] of America and Europe...know well that the disastrous attack has been planned and realized from the Mossad, with the aid of the Zionist world in order to put under accusation the Arabic countries and in order to induce the western powers to take part ... in Iraq [and] Afghanistan."

Cossiga was elected president of the Italian Senate in July 1983 before winning a landslide election to become president of the country in 1985, and he remained until 1992.

Cossiga's tendency to be outspoken upset the Italian political establishment, and he was forced to resign after revealing the existence of, and his part in setting up, Operation Gladio. This was a rogue intelligence network under NATO auspices that carried out bombings across Europe in the 1960s, 1970s and '80s. Gladio's specialty was to carry out what they termed "false flag" operations—terror attacks that were blamed on their domestic and geopolitical opposition.

In March 2001, Gladio agent Vincenzo Vinciguerra stated, in sworn testimony, "You had to attack civilians, the people, women, children, innocent people, unknown people far removed from any political game. The reason was quite simple: to force ... the public to turn to the state to ask for greater security."

Cossiga first expressed his doubts about 9-11 in 2001, and is quoted by 9-11 researcherWebster Tarpley saying "The mastermind of the attack must have been a sophisticated mind, provided with ample means not only to recruit fanatic kamikazes, but also highly specialized personnel. I add one thing: it could not be accomplished without infiltrations in the radar and
flight security personnel."

Coming from a widely respected former head of state, Cossiga's assertion that the 9-11 attacks were an inside job and that this is common knowledge among global intelligence agencies is illuminating. It is one more eye-opening confirmation that has not been mentioned by America's propaganda machine in print or on TV. Nevertheless, because of his experience and status in the world, Cossiga cannot be discounted as a crackpot.

Isn't it just great how much love the "Truthers" show to admitted terrorists and murderers?

Do you have reason to believe what Cossiga says is true? Untrue?

A preliminary Google News search of the name Francesco Cossiga shows 5 news stories in 5 unique news sources. I did not see see any retractions or rebuttals.

It is irrelevant why I think he said it. If 5 news outlets are to put their credibility on the line it's good enough for me. Here's an interesting snippet.

Based upon him being an admitted terrorist and murderer, I have every reason to disbelieve his story.  Terrorists and murderers are not known for their honesty and credibility.

By that "logic," you should accept the "official story" without the slightest hint of doubt, since a lot more than 5 news outlets put their credibility on the line with that one...

Talk about nonsensical.  "It was on the news, so it must be true!" ::)

He is only supposed to have made the comments to one newspaper, not to five.  And that many news agencies picked up the story proves that the original newspaper claims that Cossiga made the claims, not that the claims are true.  I think it's odd that the people who have a hard time believing what government officials say about 9/11 trot out as evidence an unsubstantiated claim by a former Italian government official.  People did the same thing with the Amero and when Vincente Fox went on Jon Stewart and Larry King's shows.  I guess you could say that ex-politicians have nothing to lose, but I would disagree, they are still intertwined in the power structures and interests that got them into power in the first place.

I read the wikipedia article on Operation Gladio; it's a fascinating topic.  Apparently during the Cold War the NATO countries funded so-called "stay behind" forces in Western Europe who, in the event of a Soviet takeover of the country, would form the core of the resistance movement.  In Italy, the force was known as Gladio.  Apparently, this force, made up of ultra-conservative groups, committed a number of terrorist attacks (such as bombings) and blamed them on the ultra-socialist groups.  There were also allegations of CIA involvement -- which, given the US's tendency to use "extrapolitical" methods to achieve its foreign policy goals, doesn't strike me as impossible.

But doesn't this sort of lend credence to the idea of the US sponsoring terrorists to do the job, rather than all this stuff about "steel doesn't melt," "the towers fell faster than freefall," "WTC7 sustained no damage," "the Pentagon was hit by a missile," "the planes were switched out"?  I mean, the US has a history, now possibly including this Operation Gladio thing, of sponsoring terrorists to perform actual acts of terrorism that the terrorists wanted to do in the first place but didn't have the resources.

I think it's more likely that these terrorists just did this in retribution for all the foreign policy evils the US had committed, but it's certainly not outside the realm of possibility that the US secretly sponsored Al Qaeda to do what the group wanted to do anyway.  Or maybe the CIA (and, sure, throw in the Mossad and the Jews too) ignored on purpose rather than through incompetence the warnings it had.  The whole controlled demolition thing just seems like a bad joke compared to the actual possibilities here.

Exactly...  If they were going to do it, this is exactly how they would, from a logistical standpoint, and from a standpoint of the actual demonstrated history of how the CIA (etc) does things.

If people want to believe the 6' 6" diabetic cave dweller masterminded a box cutter hijacking with 19 13 terrorists*, and that jet fuel can bring down 2 fortified skyscrapers (third fell from laughter I guess) and that a man about to die calls his mother via cell phone from inside the plane and identifies himself to her by his first and last name then be my guest. If there were this many unanswered questions in a real murder investigation safe to assume that it would not be as open and shut as the proverbial steam roller running over your head.

Squish. Done.

*13 people hijacked 5 planes. Either that's 2.6 hijackers per plane or 3.25 hijackers per plane if one of the five planes hijacked itself.  ;)

Now they were "fortified."  Is that like how the media described Ed Brown's place?

Nice to see the true motivations of the "Truthers" showing...

I do that frequently, particularly when I'm rushed.  I'm used to using both names when I'm calling business associates, and since that makes up the majority of my phone usage, I do the same if I don't think not to, when calling friends and family.

I can't imagine someone who was about to die, not being on top of things like making sure to only use his first name.  That's just crazy!  Clearly, he should have been cool, calm, and completely collected.  How dare he speak in a less-than-perfect manner! ::)

Uh, you just quoted me saying that I do have reason to believe that his story was untrue. ::)

Namely (again, as quoted) that he is a terrorist and a murderer, by his own admission.  He belongs dangling from a lamp post, not being lauded by "Truthers."

The 9-11 Truth movement is about convincing ordinary people that the mainstream story isn't true. Most ordinary people tend to place more trust in the State and its thugs than they do in other ordinary people. So, having an ex–State thug saying the same as the 9-11 Truthers lends them more credibility in front of the masses.
