On one of my "How the hell did I come across this?" voyages through the internets I came across this fascinating podcast called The Midwest Teen Sex Show.

www.midwestteensexshow.com
They call it "A video show about teen sexuality."

It is very well made and uses "tongue-in-cheek" humor to make it entertaining while being educational as well.
I love that there is a show out there like this and wish there was such a thing when I was younger. I'd like to see more shows like this and less of the "Sex is the devil! We must never speak of it!" attitude that is most prevalent in our society.

I just thought I'd share an interesting find.

Meh, thought it was something completely different.  >:D

Yeah, the title is most misleading.

Fluff and Stuff

Nah, the title is right no.  The hosts even look like they are from the Midwest.  That show is so damn funny.  I mean, not Street Fighter: The Older Years funny, but still funny.

Actually, the first thing that came to mind was the Maury Povich show.  :D

...which lead to my second thought...

It's a shame parents aren't taking on the responsibility, or are too narrow-minded to even consider such a thought. Though, I really have to wonder how much sex is avoided due to parents teaching their children that sex is evil; it doesn't seem to stop many of the Catholics in the N.E. and judging by some of the daytime drama talk shows; doesn't seem to be much of a consideration in the mid-west either.

Yeah, proper education is good, M'kay.

I looked at a cople of the videos and found them frank and humerous

Teaching children that sex is evil just prevents them from learning how to do it responsibly. One who wants hard data in order to prove this can simply compare statistics for STDs and unplanned pregnancies in the U.S. to many of the countries in northern Europe. And if there's any truth to this theory, it's a lot more damaging than just that.
