At the fed building today they asked me for a photo ID.
  I said I didn't have one.
  What's your name?
  Lauren Canario
  What's your birthday?
I'll keep that to myself.
You'll tell me or you wont get into the building!
We'll see about that.
They called the marshal's office... they let me through.
:)
I guess they have to let subpoenaed witnesses through anyway.

Next time I'm going to ask the guys at the metal detector for their birth dates and addresses.

Reno's lawyer, David Bowes called me as a witness.  He asked about my conversations with Reno, what the music concert at the Brown's was like and what I saw when I hiked around the Brown's woods.  I said I never saw plastic bags in the trees.  He showed a map of the Browns property with about 7 marks where such booby traps were found.  He showed a picture of a small tree stump with wires around it.  I said I never saw any trees with wire on them.  When he asked about weapons I'd seen in the Browns home, I said some people had pistols and once in a while people walked around with rifles.  He showed some me a short video of the inside of the Browns home and a rifle on a table.  He asked if knew what a yellow and black cylinder in the picture was.  I didn't.  He was showing evidence that Reno had returned to Texas before the booby traps were installed.

The prosecution had no questions for me.  Jason's lawyer asked if I knew Jason.  Could I pick him out of the courtroom?  I looked around the room and Jason was on the far side of the room smiling and waving.  I said, I think he's the guy waving at me.   :)  Danny Riley's lawyer put his face in his hands.

Reno and Jason seemed in good spirits, but Danny had dark circles under his eyes and seemed expressionless.

Jason's lawyer asked me if I remembered two events.  He described the time I gave Jason a ride to the store, and the time a group of us went to the Plainfield selectmen's meeting with cameras.  I said yes, I remembered them.

Danny's lawyer asked if I'd ever heard Danny threaten feds or brandish weapons or even raise his voice.  I said I didn't.

The jury was taking notes when I answered the preliminary questions like my age and birthplace, then they seemed to do a lot of looking at the floor.  Reno's lawyer asked me to describe the day I was arrested at the roadblock.  One jurors pursed her lips, another and shook his head slightly.  It's possible they thought it was unjust to arrest me ...or they thought I was being insanely stupid to challenge them.   :)
Hopefully it showed a non-violent side of the Brown Supporters.

Lauren: but technically you were already IN the building anyway.  What they meant, not as doormen, but gatekeepers, was that you we not to get past that point of space or line drawn on the floor.

The definition of their job is as a "porter" or "one in charge* of a gate or door."

* The word "charge" in both the verb and noun of to "attack" or an "attack", at #7 each on page 123 of my "The American Heritage Dictionary of the English Language" (c)1973.  See also the verb definition of the word "charge" to also mean: 1 "to entrust with a duty, responsibility" and 2 "to command".

So back to my incident: did the Marshals "command"*, order or tell me to either get on the other side of the gate or to leave the building under threat of being arrested for trespass?  No! I even dared them to give such a command, so that I could counter them with trespass charges. [see my Reply #___ above on page no. __  about the contract void ab initio over in Dover with the County Commissioners] They instead took me by the arms and pushed me out the door.  Not the swirling door, but the regular door to the east.

Now is this in their job description to take over as a doorman? The "thing" of the door "entrusted to one's care", custody or responsibility? (re: #2 + 1 respectfully for the charge word in the noun).

See also the noun #5 of "A command* or injunction"; and #6 of "A debit in an account".  What's the opposite of a debit, but (1) a credit, with synonyms of: recognition, acknowledgment; reliance, confidence; honor, merit; asset for the noun; and (2) to "enter or apply (on the credit side)" for the verb.

More on this later...

Whew, glad that's all cleared up now.

lauren you are one of my heros and i hope when i grow up i can stand as straight as you and just tell it like it is but as long as that means they can throw me in a little cell i will lie when ever i have to. being honest has put me in the mess im in with the gun and all.

Dave Ridley

no need to lie, or necessarily even remain silent.  just ask questions!

well that doesn't work on the stand maybe but out and about....

firecracker joe

just don't let your head get ahead of your mouth (my proplem) and know your rights and camers seem to help alot.
I wish the best ,for a few guys just trying to help a couple who dared stand for our rights ,and look what they get.The media (most of) is onesided and unfair to people outside the box. the fsp will prevail.

Just got a message on Porc-411 that the supporters were found guilty. I can't hear the entire message right now due to all the noise around here, but perhaps someone can transcribe it.

KBCraig

Danny found guilty on all counts.

Jason found guilty of all counts except for the explosives charges (which I believe is very significant in his case).

Jury is still hung on Reno.

Elaine is being held at Wyatt Detention Facility in Central Falls, RI, and has been told to expect firearms and explosives charges based on testimony in this case.

That sucks  >:(  I hope they at least let Reno go.
