I've been thinking of getting my hair cut because of the split ends and I'm really sick of paying $$ just to have it trimmed so I found this thing the other day on the internet.

I ordered one yesterday and I can let whoever wants to know how it works after I try it. :)

I've seen that before but the problem with that one is I'm not looking for a haircut, I want to keep my long hair.  This thing is supposed to get rid of the split ends while it lets you keep the length.

hey jim, those things gum up when they hit mushy boggers.

I prefer trimming nose hair with a bic lighter. heehee

Rainey, just trim off the split ends...keep your hair long..it looks nice.

Thanks!  I'm definitely keeping my long hair but my split ends are starting to go all the way up the hair shaft.  This thing is supposed to get rid of them from the root to the end without losing over a 1/4 inch of length.  I hope it's as great as it sounds!  Watch I'll be bald after I try it! ::)

Okay,  here's my review of this hair thing.  It doesn't work like their website says it does and also when you open it, then it says better for straight hair, not curly, it tells you to straighten your hair before using. ::)

I tried it on my daughter and I see no difference and Rick did my hair and it doesn't feel any different so I'm going to get a shower and see if it looks different after that.

I am going to see if there's a money back guarantee too! :)

Do you color your hair or do perms? That really can cause some probs. KOla

I don't think any of those gadgets really work.

If your split end is very far up the hair shaft. you are actually best to get a significant trim. It's kind of like rotting wood - it just keeps spreading.

Have you tried any of the deep conditioning treatments out there? Pantene Pro-V Replenishing Mask really does seem to put life back into the hair. It was pretty cheap - under $10. I think someone told me a similar product in the Aussie line worked well and was pretty inexpensive as well.

If you pull your hair up a lot, also be sure to use the newer style elastics that are metal free - there's less pulling and ripping of the hair.

I definitely don't need a perm because if I let my hair air dry it is very curly and yeah I do color my hair because I hate the grays popping up all over the place. :(

I try not to color it too much just when I get to the point of being sick of looking at the gray hairs.  My grays started popping up when I was about 29 and it's funny because my twin sister isn't into the hair and make up stuff but she has no gray hair! ::)

Actually I was surprised the day after I used this thing, I washed my hair, blew dry it straight and it does look a little bit better than it did the first day I used it.  Your only supposed to use it every 4 to 6 weeks so I'll give it another try then if my hair keeps looking nice like it is right now.

I've tried almost everything except for the Pantene Mask so I'll check that out, thanks! :)

I like the Biolage Balm and have been using that for a couple of years the only thing I do different now is I blow dry my hair more so maybe I just need to go curly for a while and give my hair a break from the blow dryer.  I like blow drying it because it looks longer than when I leave it curly and plus I hate going out in the freezing cold with wet hair.

Well, I have such fine hair that it dries in no time, so I don't get too much damage from the dryer. Oddly enough, in the summer when I'm in my pool every day, you would think my hair would be more damaged, and it's not. The winter dryness seems to be my worst enemy.

I remember this girl with really long hair in high school. She would sit there and find split ends and then grab each end and pull it apart all the way up the hair shaft. She knew she shouldn't but it was like a compulsion. :P
