I want to quit smoking but I'm afraid of being bitchy

I bet people around you would be understanding if you were bitchy for a few days.  :)

They won't understand but I hope they'll still love me! :D

If you need a support buddy, I'm in.

I'm on my second week of this cleansing diet where I have quit consuming all of my favorite things: beer, soda, tobacco, cheeseburgers, and pizza. Sometimes I drive by Wendys and stare at the poster of the Baconator, but thus far have not succumbed.

Wow, you have great willpower!  My sister told me never to give up everything at the same time because I will feel too deprived and stop trying.  So I listened to her, but maybe I won't listen to her this time.  To me if I'm going to be a bitch because of not smoking why not go the whole 9 yards and get rid of all my bad habits at the same time.  Good luck and we can be support buddies! ;D  Thanks!

I wish I would have been able to bring the willpower to bear before I let myself gain 60 pounds over the past two years.

You could post here when it gets bad.  I'm sure someone would be around to encourage you.

Thanks Kat! ;D  The computer is one of my spots to smoke though so I don't know if I'll be on it that much for the first few days.  I'll have to see how that one goes.  It's the computer, phone, and company that smokes too that are my weaknesses.  Otherwise I can watch a 3 hour movie, shop in a mall for hours and I don't miss cigarettes at all.

Unfortunately I can't do anything that costs money like shopping or movies right now because Rick has been out of work for the past 3 days.  It's his new job that he's only been at for 2 weeks too!

He really hurt his back shoveling snow and lifting a heavy bed set.  In all of our years together he's only missed work 2 or 3 times from being sick.  I'm scared that his new job will not understand and he's not getting paid for his days off either.  He wants me to take him to the ER today, with no health insurance that bill will be real ugly but if he's gotta go, he's gotta go. :-\

Forget about quitting smoking. Try alkalising your diet. An alkaline diet (as opposed to a Standard American acidic diet), including alkaline water will lead to better health, and the desire to smoke will melt away. Lots of good info out there. One good book on the subject, although I think the author is too critical of blue-green algae, is "The pH Miracle: Balance Your Diet, Reclaim Your Health" by Dr. Robert O. Young.

I have all the alkalizing books out there and it's a great thing to do!  I have Dr. Young's book too.  I did do that before our car accident for 2 years, lost tons of weight, felt great, but never, ever lost the urge for smoking.  I stopped after the accident because I started taking pain pills and didn't really care anymore.  Great advice though!

Even if it didn't ever help me to quit smoking I sure won't gain weight eating alkalizing foods when I do quit smoking. Thanks! :)

smoking a pipe gives me pleasure without the addiction.

Yeah I used to say the same thing about pipe smoking, until I actually stopped smoking it.
