Nothing getting done...that sounds great  :D

And this never-ending mix of the socialist/fascist state imploding is sure beginning to sound so much better than continuing . . .

There is no government like NO GOVERNMENT!

Good for you and good luck!  Did you quit cold turkey?  I'm quitting very soon too and I'm pretty nervous.  I don't know if I'll be able to be on the computer, it's a trigger! :)

I'm trying the gum its expensive but works to take the edge off.
Ive quit cold turkey 6 times so I'm pretty good at it, but i wanted the challenge so ill try something differn't!(ha)

I think it best to quit with some Pilate's or yoga during those NIC-FITS it helps the muscles after being deprived for o2 for so long, or even some simple stretches and calistetics...didn't kill yourself just enough to feel better, remember its all about the breathing!    good luck and godspeed!

Good luck to both of of you.  It has been about 4 or 5 months for me.  The best advice I could give would be to relax.

Don't let the urges anger you.  Anger generally will weekens people. (Anger also makes you less likable - even to yourself.)
The urges will keep on coming - and at sometimes RANDOM TIMES.  You might actually find it easier dealing with the "triggers" that you are aware of.  Again, relax.  Don't try too hard; just relax.

I still get VERY strong urges almost every day.  I try to find the urges as a sort of curious amusement - it is very very strange after all - rather than a point of aggravation.

The suggestion to do some yoga is always a good one, and it certainly helps in this situation . . . BREATH and RELAX.
RELAX and BREATH.

Thanks for the advice and congrats for you! :)  It will be nice to be able to deep breathe and not cough, the pros sure do out weigh the cons to quit smoking.  That's what I'm going to remind myself of things like no more coughing, craving a cig in the morning when I wake up, the yucky smell, etc.
One time an old doctor of mine told me he had quit smoking 20 years ago and still gets an occasional urge to smoke.

John

I have spoken to men who have had urges even 25-or-more years after quiting. I fully expect that the urges could last the rest of my life.  Probably a good idea to adjust towards a positive attitude about the strange urges early on - - - as in today.

For me, getting those "curious" little "amusing" urges does not cause me any stress at all.  WELL, truth is, not much and not most of the time.  ;D  I'm not perfect - YET.  ;D

And since the Congress is currently a Democratic majority, if Hitlary gets elected, I'd expect quite a lot to "get done," unfortunately.

Exactly!  The government led by Hitlery will only accelerate its self-destructive trajectory of fueling general disenchantment... thereby bringing closer the imminent collapse of their house of cards.

That is ultimately a good thing :)

the "plans" will still be carried out. Its nothing but a fuckin mob of thugs.

Dem repubs blah blah blah yada yada...its all bullshit.

Do you folks realize this?

Kola

Of course we realize this -- you're preachin' to the choir, Kola.  It is the rest of the masses that need to wake up... and guess what: Seeing is believing.  Let them have it their way, and once they see for themselves that the new 'boss' is same as the old 'boss', they will be better conditioned to accept the only real solution: No more authoritarian government at all.  The only remaining factor will be how well we manage to beam that radical new paradigm into their minds, once they are primed for it.

There are silver linings to every cloud... when viewed from positive angles :)

I don't think my dad still has urges for cigarettes - he seems to find them vile now.  :D

Gas is up. More people are hungry for an answer and I have experienced less people not interested in hearing about Ron Paul.
Ron Paul can still win. I think.

I think you're right, dag nab it! You ought to put a little money on it. Hell, I'll give you 500 to 1 odds. Any takers?  ;D
