mMMMMmmm meat honey!  But is it atkins friendly?   >:D

srqrebel

I believe it was Atkins who stated that honey is actually the most potent, hence most destructive, form of sugar.

It never ceases to amaze me how easily some people assume that something is better for you if it is 'natural', or bad if it is 'manmade'.

Caleb

yes, but didn't Atkins die a premature death from a heart attack?  ;)

Beth221

i am proud to say my man lost OVER 100lbs on atkins.  His cholesterol is now healthy, and blood pressure NORMAL.

there are many natural things that are harmful.

No. He died from a head injury.

John

I've been moving (slowly yet steadily) towards a diet of more healthy (and increasingly organically grown) foods and find many benefits.
Just a few years ago (before adjusting my diet) I was telling people that I have not felt better since I was a teenager.

Now I say that I don't recall EVER feeling -consistently- better.  EVER!

It's not just what we put put into our bodies (& minds) that are important, but also the CRAP we leave out.

No. He died from a head injury.

Whether he slipped and hit his head, or had a heart attack and hit his head, 72 isn't a "premature" age to die.

John

Quality vs. quantity?
Give me just 10 more min. of how I feel these days . . .  ;D

More about the associated costs. Many families in NH just grow their own.

I'm hoping to grab another 30 years after 72. I don't know about you.

Dude, you made it.   ;D  1972 -> 1982 -> 1992 - 2002.  Best wishes on moving forward!
I'm so happy to be here now.  30 more?
My grandmother lived to 3 days short of 102, or was it 2 days short of 103.  8)  TRUST ME, She would not appreciate us keeping even these NUMBERS on her.  She would tell you to "mind your own damned business".
She was awesome - each day.
She said that she had no intention of dying on her own!  ;D  She said someone would need kill her.  :)
I say bless her STRONG (yet peaceful) WILL!

No. He died from a head injury.

After decades of keeping trim on his low-carb diet, he was hospitalized in a coma, after sustaining severe head injury from a fall.  At six feet tall, he weighed only 195 pounds upon entering the hospital.  He was fed intravenously at the hospital, and gained 63 pounds by the time he died eight days later, while still in a coma.

Beth221

63 lbs in 8 days?  no wonder he croaked, the hospital over fed him!
that is almost 8lbs of food a day..  that is a TUN of food to eat in a day, which i am sure some percent of it was pure water... but, come on...
