It seems that "Motari" is a real U.S. Marine based in Hawaii. USMC is investigating. Beyond that, little is known.

I've watched the video over and over, and I'm not convinced that a real puppy was thrown. The "yipe-yipe-yipe" as the "puppy" is thrown is obviously fake; dogs just don't make that sound in that circumstance.

The correct statement is put a young man in a situation full of stress and anger; led by assholes in a shit-hole of the planet and then bore the holy hell out of him. That's when soldiers start doing really stupid shit.

Things that make me suspicious: the dog doesn't move, the dog is not visible for a couple seconds which is a good place to make a replacement or a cut to the fake dog, the audio of the dog yelping doesn't fade as the "dog" gets farther from the camera.

I'm very skeptical. The guys level of humor in their voice makes me think it's a prank. A stupid one though.
