If you decide to do so, you mind if I sell tickets?

Great idea for a fund raiser Kat! ;D  Oh never mind the $$ would probably have to go towards his hospital bills!

Jim, good point about animals not afraid of people. I've heard of animal control shooting them with rubber bullets. Hurts like a som'bitch but doesn't do any real damage. Helps them to see people as a threat to be avoided. That would hopefully avoid you getting into any trouble for violating hunting laws. No one has to even know you did it for that matter. Know where to get rubber bullets?

I remember hearing that crows were a sign of something bad about to happen.  I probably watched too many horror movies! :)

There's good reason for such myths. Crows do tend to watch people and even follow them around when they're outside working on a farm or walking through the woods or some such. They'll perch nearby and stare at a person. Then as you're walking along, they'll fly to a nearer perch and continue staring. It's like they're waiting for something to happen. It's understandably creepy as all get out.

They don't just do this with people. They do it with any large(ish) animal. The reason they do this is because large animals disturb insects and other small creatures hidden in the grass and brush that then jump or fly away. That's one of their favorite foods. Crows are very smart and are opportunists and they use this opportunity to discover where their favorite foods are.

Perhaps they are waiting for us to say something they can understand

Another of their favorite foods is carcasses of large animals that get distracted watching crows and don't notice the Smilodon.
