I'm going to use the classic silent auction style that we have used before.

What I need is good stuff for the auction.

I also need volunteers to help out at the table for the auction.  The auction will be set up under the tents with the other vendors so you will be able to see the bands.

Kate -

I will get you a "Low taxes are the result of low spending" t-shirt for the auction.

If I can come up with some other items, I'll let you know.

hows this for an idea Kate,
Create an amazon wish list for things you would like auctioned off, like books and such, people can buy them, they get sent to you, and you auction them off.  One good thing about it, amazon has a TON of books used, very cheep, with free or low shipping.

Hmmmmmm.  Interesting idea.  A wish list may be a good idea.

OK what sorts of things would people like to bid on.

Give me some good ideas.

By the way, New Hampshire apparently requires auctioneers to be licensed (RSA 311-B:4). Is this auction a civil disobedience project, too? ;D

You don't need a permit or an auctioneer for a silent auction in NH.  This is why we use the silent auction format.

I'm still looking for donations.  I would love to have a great selection of stuff for the auction.

Kate, I'll get the details of the commissioned comic to you soon. Sorry about the delay. I'll also get you some sample artwork of some of the characters so you'll have something visual to display with it.

I 'll be at Taproom tonight if anyone wants to give me anything for the silent auction.  I'm still looking for stuff.

Commissioned Comic

I will do a custom comic for the winner which will be posted on my site and archived for as long as the site is up. It will be posted in the blog section with an entry congratulating the winner and if it's too large to fit, it will be placed on its own page and linked to from a thumbnail in the blog entry. It can be a single panel (520x520 px) up to two or three panel (750x350 px). You may write the script, essentially, and I will draw it. It can be about almost anything you want*. It includes two hours of consulting time to iron out the details. Alternatively you can give me a photo and a personal description and be drawn into a comic strip that I write. PC Weenies does something like this regularly. It includes an autographed framed print of the cartoon which I will ship if the winner is not local.

* The only restriction I would place is on material that would cause me to need adult controls on my site. I want the site to remain reasonably family friendly.

Kate if I can't get down to the Taproom how can I get stuff to you?  I'm still not positive what your looking for but I have things like chair cushions, possibly a lot of homeschooling stuff, (some may have a few pages written in), and curtains, stuff like that.   I offered my homeschooling stuff to somebody on here, I forget who now but a meeting place was never chosen and this box is just sitting here.

Let me know please.   There is a chance I may make it to Porcfest after all this year, my knee is feeling better. I have tons of family stuff going on right now but it would be nice to get out of here and meet some people I've never met yet and see people I've already met.

If I can't make it to Porcfest I'd like to give you what I have for the auction anyway.
