Run for New London City Council

I've been told by someone who is in the know that New London's city council filing period is this coming week, and there is NO Residency requirement. (i'm checking on that)

Sounds like a job for 2-3 activists who could get elected, so long as they file on the right date, and promote an anti-eminent domain agenda.

I called (and am waiting for a call back from) the city registrar (860.447.5206), about filing requirements.  Sounds like running independent requires a petition of 470 people signing it...  Perhaps a few of you would be interested... I'm not really looking for a paper candidacy, but I know some of you have been to New London and would make a GREAT City Councilor. (grin)

If anyone is serious about this, contact me.... I had a nice talk with someone I can't name here, but... hey, who knows...

It would be like reverse carpet bagging.   But wouldn't it be poetic for Suzette Kelo to run?  I think it would be a landslide.

If someone has her contact info, let me know.... nobody seems to want to run for council there (grin)

I guess you are not "in the know" >:D

We've been down there talking to her.

When I met her, I didn't think she seemed the type to want to run for public office. I felt more like she just wanted this all to end and to get on with her life.
