Note, that wasn't a dealbreaker - the owner was just passing along what he'd heard.  Stone was nearly a dealbreaker, but luckily the owner understands we can't control who comes in.

I still don't like wait-staff. Maybe they didn't get good tips b/c (at least my observation) was that one of the women wasn't a very good waiter. Maybe it was the workload, I don't know.

I really hate tipping though. I didn't come to a business so I could do math to determine what the price is over the price.

Does it really take that much math to decide what a service is worth to you?

If the math is too tough, you can always have the server add it to the tab before they bring it to you.

But NH doesn't have a sales tax.

Oh wait, just on a minority of goods and services so a majority won't complain.

Kind of like NH doesn't have an income tax, except on certain types of income.

But I suppose I could do the second suggestion. Though that takes any incentive to do a good job out of the equation.

I don't like having to think about it either, but it's pretty easy to get a baseline 15%.  Just take 10% then add half that.  Double it for great service.  Alternately, if an 8% tax is listed on the receipt, double it.

You can always wait until after the service has been provided to tell them.

I don't like the server to always have to be the first mover in this game, so I will often pre tip and post tip in a new serving relationship. Like a half up front, half when the job is done kind of deal.

Well, as it seems up in the air as to whether Abunara will continue existing, Social Sundays has moved back to McCue's at 12 Emerald St. in Keene, at 5pm.  The event continues to be a game night - bring your own board / card games or use McCue's pool tables or darts.  Enjoy the drink and food specials.  Beers are cheap as are wings and pizza until 7p!
