Sam A. Robrin

If anyone who can be there wants to sing this, go right ahead!

I'D RATHER DANCE ON MY FEET THAN LIVE ON MY KNEES  COPYRIGHT MY 2011 by Sam A. Robrin or whoever the hell it is who writes these things. Go ahead and use it, but if you make a little money on it, I want some!

In my mind and my spirit
      Plays the music of liberty.
Those who've learned how to hear it
      Know the call of Terpsichore.

   Pharisees disapprove
("Freedom comes with a price, you know...").
   For this movement, I'd move,
But there's no freer place I can go.

      Freedom's song is so sweet,
I have to dance to this beat,
            Scorning little and large obloquies--
So I'll vote with my feet
Never to live on my knees.

Judges and politicians
      Declaim their own lame song-and-dance
Of dictats and conditions
They say give dissenters a chance.

   We'll show no supplication
         To government lapdogs in blue.
   This is our declaration
         Of independence from you.

      No way we will retreat,
Though we're thrown to the street,
            Victims of their atrocities.
Though we're knocked off our feet,
We won't bow to them on our knees.

Thomas Jefferson's statue--
      For which you're compelling respect--
Represents ideals that you
Would do well upon which to reflect.

If you loved them, you'd live them.
As you're sworn to protect and to serve,
Come join with us and give them
         The respectful regard they deserve.

      Till together, we meet
      And our triumph's complete,
            All my loyalty is liberty's.
And I'll dance on my feet
Before I will live on my knees.

Personally I'd like see these idiotic  "memorials" torn down... including refacing Mt Rushmore.

I think we may be dancing in Dallas this Saturday to match the one in DC.

I like her song. Didn't sing it though, since I didn't print out the words. I kept singing, humming, whistling "Dancin' in the Streets" while we bopped along in Downtown Dallas.
In my new small town we could only grub up 4 supporters. Someday we can attain the turnout numbers like the big activist cities like Free Grafton.

Dancing at a national memorial isn't civil disobedience
if it isn't civil disobedience ... what is it?
oh yea Dance Party
I see that it is also unlawful to hold a "vigil" there .... I wonder how they decide if you are holding a "vigil" ... and I wonder if they will body slam you.
I guess slam dancing is allowed .... if you come in the blue shirts.

White folks can't dance. Russell shoulda been there with straw hat and pitchfork. Now he can dance.

I think people should be arrested only if they dance like Elaine Bennis from Seinfeld.

the people in DC looked good and looked like they were having a ball. Take that police state.

I almost went in straw hat and pitchfork, but my straw hat has been crushed and I haven't found one yet in Texas that won't blow off in the wind. Also I didn't wear my overalls since it was 98 degrees. and where is my potato fork when i need it? Next time I visit that fed building i will have to be wearing my don quixote gear or presiding over the death of the fed in my cardinal of he shire garb?
