Okay, that might not be entirely true but liberty activists did gamble for money in public today and no one was arrested! (Cops were standing nearby!) In addition, we did some pro-liberty outreach to the good people of Keene. Big thanks to The New Hampshire Liberty Alliance, NH Coalition for Common Sense, the Alternatives Expo, The New Hampshire Free Press, and everyone else who came out to attend the event!

See pictures from the event courtesy of Kat Kanning, of the New Hampshire Free Press on this discussion thread. Others may post their pictures here later as well.

Stay tuned to FreeKeene.com for more great blogs, video, audio, and an announcement about the upcoming Summer 2008 Freedom Fest!

FYI, they have regulated Casinos, lotteries, and charity poker in NH so it has been legal (just highly regulated) for sometime :)  Maybe, unregulated gambling is now legal in NH?

Is there a Casino in New Hampshire?   yes.

Is there gambling at the Casino Ballroom?
NO. Gambling is illegal in the state of New Hampshire. The word Casino comes from the 19th century definition of "gathering place".

The regulations generally limit profit by non-participants (book makers and such).

I haven't been out-and-about town in Concord anytime in the last couple of decades, but a couple of years ago, a New Hampshire resident friend of mine told me that Concord licenses video draw poker games for $1,500 per year each, but realistically a video power will never take in as much as ten dollars a week unless it pays off, so if what my frriend told me is accurate, then basically, the city is taking $1,500 per machine bribes to ignore the fact that such machines are certainly being used for gambling.  Can anyone confirm that Concord does indeed issue such licenses?
