I knew a couple of porn actors and a guy who was working on a documentary where he interviewed various sex workers and salaries are dropping to pathetic numbers, at least for men. There are a few big names, porn stars as opposed to just porn actors, who get paid a bit more for the branding they can bring, but in general it's poor. I've heard numbers like $100 or $150 for a scene. It's just not nearly as taboo anymore. Unless you want to run for office someday, it's not that big a deal. For a lot of gay men, and I'm sure it applies to str8 men as well, being filmed while having sex with other hot people is a turn-on. A lot of porn actors are practically striking over it but it just struck me as laughable. You have competition now. Your "services" just aren't as valuable. Deal with it. Why should any directors pay more when there are people just about willing to do it for free?

There's still a little stigma. I sure as Hell don't want to be a cheap slut and advertise it to the world and most of my friends had the same view. And while there are people who love the idea of getting to sleep with someone they whacked off to in a porn film, I wouldn't want to. It's safe watching it, but I don't understand how someone can want sloppy seconds of that. You just know that thing's been all over the place!

The porn actors I know make off pretty well. For example, Chris gets 500 per scene and 2000 per cover. Sean is one of the big names right now and names his price, and it's pretty damn high. He's been able to roll it into an acting gig from time to time. He's in the sequel to Another Gay Movie.
