Unfortunately, Porc 411 isn't a help when you're on the road - it emails you.  We tried an emergency call list, but haven't used it much.  It was just a list of phone numbers to call when something is going down.

Does zimmerman have a name?  Is that his last name or a screen name?  I was going to update the wiki.

FTL_Ian

I'm guessing it was Vampire Zim as he lives in Seabrook at the moment.

He referred to himself as "Zim" in his own Porc-411 calls, so I take it that's him. Mike Moore called him "Zimmerman."

Was it Vampire Zim that got arrested?

Yes - I responded to the call and talked to Mike and then later to Zim after he was released. They confiscated his mini-barrel of Heinekin (which he had between his feet in the front passenger compartment) and his gun and are holding the items til trial.

The mini-keg caused the opening of the passenger door by the cop and the demand that he hand that over. When he reached for that, the cop saw his gun on the floor and pulled on him - kinda tense situation for a bit. Both Mike and Zim were handcuffed and sat on the ground. Mike refused to allow a vehicle search and the fuzz said OK. Mike was field sobriety tested and passed. The cops said he was weaving, which is why they stopped them.

Zim was taken to Raymond Police station and fingerprinted 3 times and held (presumably in a cell). A bail commissioner was called and Zim was released after signing a buncha stuff and paying a $30 fee to the bail commissioner - presumably, the release was on PR. If he had not of signed everything, he would have been held til there was a hearing before a District Court Judge, probably for 3 or 4 days.

I gave Zim Evan Nappen's phone #223-0001 because redchrome said they have a team of lawyers that man that number at night. We probably need to help Evan get more of those orange cards in people's hands, since they have arrest guidelines on the back. These should be handed out in every newcomers' packet (you didn't get your newcomers' packet?).

An unfortunate welcome to Zim, who's been here about 3 weeks and Mike, who has been here about 5 days.

To prevent this kind of situation in the future:
1. Per the cops, the mini-keg would have been okay in the passenger compartment as long as it was in the back seat'
2. The gun would have been okay if it was unloaded.

Zim suggests we should state some of these guidelines clearly to newcomers, since he now has an expensive hassle to deal with.

I suggest a legal defense association, with some pooled resources brought to play. I just can't organize it due to polypyritis, but if someone else organizes it, I would gladly contribute regularly. That way, we could bring more resources ("Bring lawyers, guns and money!" - W. Zevon) to bear in situations like these. There may have been some violations of even NH law by the cops - a good lawyer on our side could make sure we kicked back in cases like this.

Coffeeseven was trying to set up a legal defense system for porcs.

I'll get right on it. I wonder how many crazy mafia "laws" we should inform newcomers about? Should we focus on driving, drinking, and gun laws or go for the whole shootin' match? We could hand them all the state and local law books.

Oh, BTW, since the cops stole my gun, does anyone have or know anyone who has a GLOCK 17 they might want to sell?  I am not going to allow the government hinder my plans to open carry for the purpose of informing others of our 2nd amendment rights.  Specially during PorcFest.

I wont get my gun back until after court, the Monday after porfest and I could always use a backup in case they decide to engage in this type of theft in the future.

Thanks,
ZIM

You still think you have 2nd amendment rights?

Well, let me clarify, to promote the few rights we have left, minus all the tens of thousands of INFRINGEMENTS.  ;)

Like the one where you can walk around with a loaded gun, but as soon as you get in a car, you are suddenly an enemy of the state.

The state needs more enemies.  >:D

No, but I have a couple others that are available.

I signed the paper to be released on personal recognizance and paid $30 for the commissioners fee.

The paper shows the violations, 159 4: UNLAWFUL POSSESSION - FIREARM and 265 A-44 TRANSPORTATION OF ALCOHOL. My court date, June 16th at 8:30am in Auburn District Court.  He wrote the address, 5 Pricilla Lane, Auburn, NH. With $1000 penalty for not showing up or breaking a law between now and the court date.

So sorry that happened to you and Mike :'(
If you'll look at that bail agreement you may find that you promised "not to consume alcohol in excess" and "to avoid proximity to firearms or ammunition".  That could put a crimp in Porcfest activities.

Nope, other than the required to show up for court part, item 4 says, The defendant shall keep the peace and be of good behavior.

Item 5 is Other:, but there is nothing listed there.
