Hello everyone, it was me who was arrested last night.  Here is the full story.

We headed out from the Seabrook manor to attend the pizza night at little Minnesota, in Deerfield.  Mike hadnt been there before and my cars tags are expired, so he drove his Jeep Cherokee.  We packed our guns so we could get some shooting in.  I had my GLOCK 17 and he had a 20 gage shotgun.  We stopped at Walmart and I picked up 100 rounds of 9mm, then we went to Shaws to get beer.
...

Do you want the story in the paper?  Do you want your name in it?  If so, what is it?

They also don't like it when your friends come to court and refuse to stand for their "judges".

Sorry to hear the Seabrook area is such a police state.  Why get a NHDL?  I've been fine without one.  Former cop Fred Parsells knows my plate is still from FL.  He mentioned it on the radio yesterday.  It's been nearly two years now.  As I pointed out to Fred, I never agreed to obey any man laws.  He didn't really have anything to say to that.  Surely Lt. Maxfield could have ticketed me on the spot, but nope!  Maybe Keene cops really are better.

Well first of all, this incident happened in Raymond, not really very close to Seabrook, Im not saying they are any better here, but its a state law, not a town law.

I want to open carry to bring awareness to our right to carry, applying for a carry conceal makes that a little easier for me to do so, without worrying about simple things like my shirt partially covering the handle or a cop claiming such.

Also having a concealed carry permit would have allowed me to have a loaded firearm in the car and made it impossible for them to arrest me on that offense.

I believe that it is important to stop disinformation that scares people away from owning guns, where they are told that only criminals and police carry guns (not sure what the difference is really, since the police just violated my constitutional rights).  I want to show support for the 2nd amendment and maybe next time the government pushes a new scare tactic to take away more rights concerning guns, the people who have seen me carrying regularly, will be less likely to fall for the lies.

Unfortunately I have to jump through a few hoops to get to that, but its worth it if it brings awareness and possibly even encourages others to take up the practice of open carry.  There is a first step for every fight and unfortunately I feel that obtaining a carriers permit is one of those steps.

I was told that, in order to get a carriers permit, I would have a better chance if I had a NHDL to prove my NH citizenship.

I don't know what they mean by you'd have a "better chance" with an NHDL. The law says they have two weeks to have it processed or they owe you an explanation as to why you don't have it, as it's 'shall issue'.

As for the traffic stop, the police may not be aware of this, but there was a supreme court case which established that a car stop legitimizes the police presence to all in the stopped car therefore all may be identified by the officer. The officer who stopped you may have either been unaware of this or maybe thought the check for the alcohol age would be more accepted by you. This is proof that the harm brought by alcohol criminalization to minors hurts those of the majority age as well.

Good point.  Further, any law that divides people into those who must obey vs. those who don't have to obey hurts those who don't have to obey because they must be identified by the authorities.  Hence IDs with more information in them.  It's not identifying you, it's classifying you.

VampireZIM

Well, I was told that an NHDL proves NH citizen the best way to the police dept therefor making it a non-issue for proving that I am a resident.

I dont have a passport either.

But I just spoke to Penny Dean and she said that if I have another paper showing my address here in New Hampshire, like my car registration, that would be adequate.  But now that I have pending charges, it would be unwise to attempt to obtain the license at this time.

Also I found out that it should just be a violation on the first offense, so it might not be too serious.  However I also found out that what I have been calling a court date, is actually arraignment date, so I dont even know when my actual court date will be until after June 16th and that its possible that I might not get my gun back.

Its great that we have the constitution to keep the government from disarming us, hmmmm.  :-\

Uh. Okay, so they may be required to give their legal name, but there is no way that they are required to show ID. You are not required to carry ID to be a passenger in a vehicle, so how can they force you to show it?  Carrying alcohol may be a different story, but being a passenger in a traffic stop cannot logically require you to show ID.

Just a thought, but right now, before you get any possible guilty verdict, may be the best time to get your permits.
