Cav, it's good to see you posting here. My oldest just signed his Army contract, and will leave for 19D OSUT on 02 August. He had a very high ASVAB score, and could pick his job, but he wanted to be a Cav scout. I didn't push, but I told him that I thought he'd be well suited for it. I was a fire support officer for 1/11 ACR from 1986-89, in Fulda. Even as a redleg, I appreciate what the Cav offers.

No Shit?  1/11 and 2/11 are in Iraq right now, I'm with the 1-221, Nevada National Guard Unit that is the round out battalion for 11th ACR, we're here pulling their OPFOR Mission at the National Training Center.

They just had the big Blackhorse Reunion in Fulda. I wish I could have been there. I ETS'd on 06 Aug 89, so I missed the wall coming down by just a couple of months.

I've got a picture I took when I was OIC at OP Alpha, of then-Blackhorse Six and a freshmen congressman from Illinois. Fifteen years later, they were Speaker of the House and Secretary of the Army -- Denny Hastert and Tom White.

I stay in touch with a couple of Blackhorse buddies, but I've lost track of most of them. One of my fellow redlegs married a Fulda girl, and we trade email regularly. I've talked some with my old Bengal Six, Glenn Snodgrass. And, I've seen a few of them in the news or on TV.
